Padraig had been captured by a cruel band of pirates. He could have easily broken out but they threatened to kill other people they kept as slaves and so did nothing to escape. They knew what he was and so planned on trading him off in order to make some money.
The pirates arrived on Amazon Lily hoping that trading a demon to them would convince the pirate empress to marry the captain. As they wheeled his cage,they were attacked as arrows and spears came flying at them. They retreated to their ship and sailed away leaving Padraig on his own. He looked around trying to spot who had thrown the spears. All Padraig had on was a small tattered hood and pants. Cuts were visible all across his body as well as dried blood.
