Sometimes, it was hard to believe in her previous life, her very first one, that she was a goddess. What was she like as Ilmatar, goddess of the Sun, Daytime, and Illusions? Was there any part of Ilmatar left in her, Lyra Morgenstern? Or was she gone for good and the only remaining remnants were past memories and her powers, all locked away and never to be used by her mortal self?
A tremendous round of applause for @ambrosiasky for bringing to life this stunning painting of my OC Lyra Morgernstern (from the game Star Crossed Myth)! Thank you so much for accepting this commission and making this spectacular image in my head a reality! The coloring and shading in this artwork is off the charts and enhances all the hues so brilliantly. And the lighting from the little glowing orbs adds such a nice touch to the rather ethereal, quiet moment between the present and past lives. <3
In this scene, Lyra is facing the image of her goddess self in a past life. In that life, she was the goddess Ilmatar and with her twin sister, they ruled over the Zodiac Gods, who served them faithfully and attentively. Now, those recollections are beginning to resurface in Lyra’s head and she continues to have more questions about her life as Ilmater as well as her relationships with the other Zodiac Gods. Additionally, there is a chance for her to unlock some of those powers as a goddess but doing so could be dangerous, fatal even, if she acquires them too quickly or overexerts her body while using said goddess abilities. In the end, the question lurking in the back of her mind is this: Does she and her sister have the strength to reclaim their lost godhood and return to the Heavens?
