ameera was born into a world of money and privilege. being the daughter of a world-renowned surgeon and a foreign diplomat, she went to the best schools and traveled to the most beautiful countries. but when she was young, her father died under mysterious circumstances, leaving her under the care of her mother. 

life with her mother was cold, to say the least. she had thrown herself into work, desperate to escape the grief of his death. what little time that she devoted to her daughter was spent critiquing ameera’s choices and decisions. just as ameera is starting her second year as a pre-med student, her mother is diagnosed with end-stage cancer. 

now, it’s ameera’s senior year and she is about to meet the man that shows her a new way to live life…
