PLOT: millie is staying over at a friends house, but she can’t sleep, so she’s up in the kitchen rifling through the cupboards for something... alcohol, a snack, etc. your muse (an older sibling, a parent, any other family member or family friend) has the same idea, and stumbles across her in there.
OPEN TO: any gender ! must be 25+ for age gap, but millie is of legal age (20), so no real limit on how old they can be.
dawn remains a stretch away. the hallways are quiet, wide; her bare feet sound like wet mud in the fall as she moves through them, silk pajama set swishing like holding your ear to wind passing through trees. she didn’t come around much no more; rarely visited her hometown since she’d been shipped across the country for college. but, when she did, millie adored her old best friend’s childhood home. it was always a little warmer than her own, the people a little softer to the touch. unable to sleep, she crept quietly out of her bedroom and into the kitchen, moving under gentle shadows like she were merely a shadow herself. just as obscure, just as soundless. rolling onto her tiptoes, she hoisted one knee onto the marble counter top, trying to unlatch the highest cupboard.
