Ok I have been finding blue eggs pretty consistently now and I can finally confidently pick my favorite egg! I get pretty excited everytime I find an egg in the nesting box but nothing makes me jump for joy like a speckled blue egg does. The speckles are like sprinkles and we all know you can't have too many sprinkles! Are you tired of my jonquil photos yet?!?! Sorry. To bad, so sad! Jonquils which are a smaller type of daffodil unfortunately have the same growing pattern. They bloom once a year all at once and poof like that they are done! If you have the perfect weather they can last up to 2 weeks but if there is a heavy rain or it gets too cold they stand no chance at all! We have been pretty lucky this year even with the freak weather and are still enjoying their blooms but the end of the tunnel is in sight. I still can't get over finding a green egg in the nesting box! I thought the fascination was because Penny only just started laying but we are over a month in to her consistently laying and I am still in love. They are even better when they are speckled like above too! But you have to be on the look out because the bloom covers them.
