Americans questioning Canadians' expertise on what the Canadian healthcare system is like be like

Me, a Canadian: Even super conservative Canadians in the most conservative province in Canada love universal healthcare. It's not perfect by any means; as my super conservative friend from uni likes to point out, service in rural areas needs drastic expansion and improvement, and things like pharmacare and dental need to be made universal too. But try to tell my conservative friends that you'd like to take away their universal healthcare and see what happens. I dare you.

Them: Have you ever even been in a Canadian ER?

Me, a Canadian: Many times! Last month I thought I'd broken my foot and went in to get a free x-ray. Turned out it was just a bad sprain. They told me to use the crutches they gave me for free and sent me home.

Them: But you've never had to experience the system for a serious illness. Like, for cancer or something.

Me, a Canadian: Actually, when I was in Grade 8 I had a tumor in my throat. The tests, the surgery, and the post-surgery care were all free. I also needed to get an MRI scan last year, and because I lived in a small town I was taken to the nearest city via ambulance. None of it cost anything and I got an ambulance ride to get back to my town too.

Them: That's anecdotal evidence though.

For all those who "against monopolies", but "support competition". The point of competition is not "simply to compete". The point of competition in business is the win. Would you want to get a profit from your participation in process of competition? Of course you would. So basically, the end goal of competition is to gain a profit. Would you participate in process where you can simply "lose everything"? I mean, most of "competitive projects" end up this way. It's not because "the product is bad". Mostly it's because someone else had more resources from the start, cheaper labor or lower costs. What would you do to win in competition? If lost would mean that you completly broke? Wouldn't you "use connections"? Will try to lower the salaries? Would try to fin cheaper supplies? Lower Rent? What if someone could find all of that together? And you, play fair, but having less resources from the start, lose. Competition does not exist in a vaccume. And successful people win the competition because they don't "play fair". Vice versa. If you play fair you would definetly lose. No matter how innovative and cool is your product. In the long run, someone who don't play fair will drive you out of business. And the end point of absolute win in competition process is - Monopoly. I mean it's cool when you get all the profits and no one challenge you on the market. Isn't it? What's unfair about it? You, YOURSLF supporting competition. But when someone finally won the competition, they all of a sudden "bad" for you. How come? What's the basic logic behind it? That's no rocket science. And yet somehow you fail to understand such simple concepts.

California's raising the age of purchasing tobacco products to 21, so my question is when the fuck are they going to raise the minimum age of active military duty? You can go kill foreigners while putting your own life at risk but you can't fucking buy a pack of smokes or a beer?

Why is it that your military budget the same as seven of the other countries with the largest military budget combined? What are you possibly using all that money for that’s so important?

Four and a half years of school and I'm going to graduate college 31,000 dollars in debt, no job, no car, and homeless. The American education system is bullshit.
