#currentlyspinning #johnfahey #guitarsoli #americanprimative I first heard John Fahey’s “Dance of Death” on the Zabriskie Point soundtrack and could not believe my ears. I had listened to a lot of the early blues guys he was inspired by but his approach to those tunes was wholly his own. Years later I’d watch his instructional videos and was then first inspired to start playing in various open tunings which is what I still mainly play today. Wish I could’ve got a chance to see him live-at least there’s pretty damn good early live footage out there.
