Okay, I know I haven’t been on in forever. I’m sorry, but I promise I’ll stop neglecting Aegis. If you’d like to continue our thread can you like this? Or if you’d like to start something new.

Syrena's eyes glued to the floor and she slowly started to back away from the pirate. "The gods and goddesses hate all mermaids...Our diet... it revolts them." Her words were barely audible, a soft ashamed whisper. "The goddess turned me human... another tried to undo the spell and I ended up like this... belonging in neither world..."

Killian knelt down in front of her attempting to appear less threatening if he could. "It's alright, love," he said quietly, unsure how to comfort this woman/mermaid.

Syrena accepted the coat, closing her eyes for a moment as it went around her. She let the warmth sink through her for a moment before she opened her eyes and looked up at the pirate. "A goddess..." she whispered, blinking slowly, unsure how much she could explain. "A curse... I'm both a mermaid... and a human." She slipped her arms through the sleeves of the coat, her cheeks blushing as she momentarily exposed herself, then wrapped her arms around herself again.

"Why would someone curse you to be both, what did this goddess have against you?" he asked curiously, unsure what would cause anyone to want to curse someone who seemed as innocent as her. Though it was true that looks could be deceiving.

Syrena felt herself being tugged out the water and willing obliged. As soon as her body hit the floor, she curled into a ball, willing the pain to stop. And suddenly it did. For just a moment she laid there, then slowly she sat up and looked at the pirate, a sad smile on her face. "I told you I wasn't like the others..." She pulled her knees to her chest, trying to hide her naked form and looked up at the pirate with wide innocent eyes.

Killian’s eyes grew wide when he noticed that her fin was no longer there and replaced by two human legs. “H-ow is that possible?” he asked. He had met many mermaids in his travels and especially in Neverland, but not one that could turn into a human. He noticed her begin to shiver and shrugged off his coat, putting it around her shoulders to cover her.

Syrena found herself unable to answer, biting her lip as her felt her tail split down the center and form in to two human legs. "Help me" she whispered, looking up at him with wide, pained eyes.

“How?” he asked horrified, unsure of what was happening right now. He took her hand and pulled her out of the water, shocked by the transformation that seemed to be happening.

Syrena met his eyes quickly, a sliver of hope shining in them. "Then you know I mean no harm! I only... I only want to belong" she said softly, her words coming out hurried. Without warning her tail stiffened, refusing to move and she cried out in pain, clutching her stomach as waves of agony moved through her. "No..." she whispered, her voice strained.

Killian’s eyes widened at her cry, unsure what was going on. “What’s wrong?” he asked in an almost panicked tone, his hand reaching out for hers.

"Nothing more than companionship pirate. My sisters have all abandoned me... I'm an outcast, all alone in the seven seas..."

Killian looked at the mermaid sadly, “I’m sorry, love,” he said kneeling down near the water. “I had been abandoned by my family as well.”

“I don’t know, lass, I am quite familiar with mermaids and how cruel they can be at times. What is it you really want from me?”
