"Hunt You Down"
Part 1
“The Beginning”
Ronin x Reader
TW! Obsession, Stalking, Thriller, Slight Spoiler!
Six days have passed since that happened. You had gotten your computer checked for any viruses or any tampering, but they didn’t find anything. Nothing out of the norm at all. You thought it was done, but boy were you wrong.
You have been receiving a lot of text files from the same anonymous sender that sent you the letter, and at first you tried to ignore them. You tried your best to not think of it much but the more you try to set it aside, the more the anonymous sender disturbed your peaceful night. You were getting sick of it, really. So you decided to reply to their email.
“You have been sending me some weird files, I cannot seem to understand why you’re sending me codes that I have no knowledge of. Who are you?”
You hit send, and then stare at your monitor for a long while as a sigh escapes your lips You don't even expect the anonymous person to reply—what’s the point of waiting for something that won't happen?
Ding!
A sound from your computer came.
It was a voice note.
You contemplate if you should listen to it or not. It might be something inappropriate, or even some illegal, who knows? You scan it for a while, but they only sent a voice note: nothing more, nothing less. You thought about it for a whole minute before sighing. You were curious about the contents, after all. You drag your mouse towards the play button, and click it.
A playful voice greets you.
“Oh darling, your hair’s a mess, you look unfocused, and the bags under your eyes have been darker over the past three days. You look like you haven’t been sleeping well at all. Are you okay? If you’re free, you’re always welcome to visit the slaughterhouse y’know?”
There’s a long pause.
“I’ve been missing you so much…darling.”
The voice note ends. You’re frozen in place, staring at your screen. You feel chills run down your spine.
What? What did he say? Wait…more importantly, his voice….? Your thoughts raced and you can feel yourself hyperventilating. “Wait, how was he able to describe how I look?” You asked yourself, taking a small mirror from a drawer to confirm his description, raising your hand to poke your undereye before smiling and laughing nervously. Damn I really do look like shit, you thought which got you distracted a little.
Ding!
This time the sound of your computer startles you. You turned your head towards the direction of the sound. Your breath hitched, you grabbed the mouse and dragged it to the shut down button, you clicked it aggressively, obviously panicking and creeped out by now. Your computer stays on.
“What..? Turn off already!” You shouted as you continued on clicking the shut down button repeatedly, but to no avail, it remained on.
“Oh darling, do you know how scared you look right now? Don’t worry, I won't hurt you. Even while panicking, your face looks so gorgeous. You don’t know how much you make me miss you, really. Visit us, visit me please? My sweet darling.”
The voice note automatically plays until you unplug your computer. You could still hear his sickeningly sweet voice ringing in your ears. Your legs shake, sweat pouring down your face as you struggle to breath. It feels like you just ran a marathon. You’re anxious, nervous, and most importantly, exposed. It feels like someone is watching you, your every move, your every reaction to what’s happening. Like you’re just someone’s entertainment.
You sat on the floor for a while, hugging your legs to your chest. You can’t help but feel cold with everything that’s happening to you right now. Why me of all people? What did I do wrong? Is this real? You choked up a sob and rested your forehead on your knees, tears already flowing down your cheek.
You go to bed with all the lights on that night and have the shittiest sleep ever.
Morning came and you woke up with even heavier eyebags. It’s a holiday today—classes were suspended and you didn’t have work to do. You sit on your bed for half an hour, staring into thin air before finally deciding to stand up and get on with your day.
But the Gods had other plans.
Ding!
This time it comes from your phone. You yawn and pick up your phone, opening it without thinking because, duh? Who would have your personal contact besides your family and friends? And how wrong you were again.
Your inbox was full of messages.
“I wasn’t done talking with you yet darling, how mean.”
“Can you just please come back to me? I know you miss me just how much I miss you.”
“You even said in one of your posts that you love me so much that you would be willing to come with me.”
“You even made a lot of fanfics about me.”
“Sweetheart? Darling? You even told your friends that I'm your favorite devil, ever.”
You pause, staring at your phone. “Favorite….devil?” You whisper as you remember someone you once called your favorite devil. “But that’s impossible, Ronin’s just a visual novel character!” you shouted as you put your phone aside and ran over to your computer, plugging it in and finally turning it on to open the game.
After the game is loaded, you open the saved file you had. Nothing had changed; it was the same choices, the same layout, the same everything.
‘goreboy has sent you a message!’
The game notified, and you clicked it almost immediately. You’re becoming too convinced that those messages were real—you know you shouldn’t believe those things but…you want to know. You really want to.
“Hey darling, you’re back. Did ya miss me?”
You froze on your spot. This had to be a joke. You had played Killer Chat! dozens of times, to the point that you had already memorized the flow and the dialogues of the game. Not once had this message ever appeared before. You looked at the area where the choices are placed, but strangely enough there were no choices. This confused you even more.
“What is happening…..” You took a deep breath as you slowly typed your message.
“Uhm, hi.”
You sent it. You were just testing it, you were testing it if it was real.
“Don’t worry darling, you’ll see me soon enough.” Ronin replied.
Staring at his reply, you noticed your vision had started to get blurry. That’s when you remembered that you hadn’t eaten anything yet since yesterday afternoon.
“Ah…fuck” The only words you managed to utter out before completely fainting.
“Ah, that was a long week. I can finally see you now, sweetheart. I'm so excited to ruin you.” Ronin whispered to himself, his eyes basically filled with hearts, grinning like mad while running his finger on his monitor where your unconscious body can be seen.
Uploading the Part 1 took a bit longer than expected but here you go! I hope you enjoy it. Stay tuned for Part 2!!
