Mythology of Ace and Pluto

Let’s have a mythology talk, shall we?

Little baby Adonis was so charming that Aphrodite could not resist him. In order to keep him protected, she handed him over to Persephone who also happened to become enchanted by the little boy, who’s beauty was both a curse and a gift from the Gods.

 The fight between Persephone and Aphrodite was settled when Zeus demanded that Adonis would spend one-third of every year with each Goddess and the last third with whoever he picked - and he picked Aphrodite.

Fun fact: Adonis is a deity of death and birth and that he’s strongly connected to the calendar. Interesting, huh? Especially cause normally we associate him with Aphrodite and beauty.

Now let’s talk about Pluto. She’s somehow a mix between Chronos and Hades and I’ve seen people associating her with Persephone. 

Chronos is the God of Time, Hades is the God of the Underworld and Persephone is his queen, who got kidnapped and forced to marry him cause why not greek mythology?

Hades’ personality is very similar to Pluto’s: an altruistic, peaceful God. He ruled the dead and experienced true wrath when someone tried to leave the realm or steal his souls.

Persephone, as we established before, was kidnapped by Hades. Eventually, as Zeus forced him to free her. However, since she had tasted food of the underworld she was forced to stay there for a third of the year, every year.

Much like Adonis, she is associate with spring and vegetation. 

Sailor Pluto and Ace:

I was wondering what was that kept Daniel and Setsuna so connected - they seem to constantly find a way back in each other’s lives, despite breaking up over and over again or fighting and arguing. Consulting with our Saturn, who’s a Greek Mythology nerd, we came up with a theory.

Firstly, whether you want to associate Setsuna more closely with Persephone, Hades or Chronos, you have to admit that she is strongly influenced by both the Underworld and Time Gods. Therefore, she is strongly connected with immortality and fate. 

Remember: the Fates are the three sisters who work the threads of life and reside in the Underworld with... yes, Persephone and Hades.

Therefore, if Ace is so connected with the Fates, and so is Setsuna, they clearly are bound to orb the same space. They probably share some of the same senses and, in some degree, abilities regarding past, present and future.

In this case, I believe that the reasons why Setsuna and Daniel are in a constant battle with themselves to keep apart is because their destinies are bounded for their inter-connected duty in some way.

AND THIS IS HOW MYTHOLOGY JUSTIFIES MY RPING.

Oh, take me back to the start || Daniel & Setsuna

I shouted with passion; "I love you so much" But feeling my skin it was cold to the touch

She stood quietly through most of the speech.The opening of that particular exhibition was a success, but Setsuna wasn’t as keen as listening to details about the pieces as she was to absorb the art in itself. She knew the facts - she could access those moments of history if she wanted to know more - so when they finally allowed viewers to indulge in the art she was thrilled.

Inviting Michiru had been the obvious choice, but the beauty couldn’t accompany her beloved housemate on that particular event. The two decided on another date, but without much to do and fearing she had grown too distant of Jadeite to offer such an invite and too awkward regarding Kuro to decide he’d be the one to go with her, Setsuna decided to go alone. After all, it would be a moment of introversion. 

Not that she needed another moment. Lately, it was mostly how Setsuna passed time. There were two issues bothering her - Kousagi’s situation: a big, horrid problem she did not know how to solve and Rubeus’ issue. He hadn’t contacted her since he found out the truth about who he was. Who knew what that meant? Maybe he had fled.

Feelings of alienation weren't foreign to the Senshi of Time. She knew herself enough to respect her own need of solitude. She barely thought of that while she admired a beautiful painting and sipped on champagne.
