She wouldn't allow him to spend his birthday alone; she showed up at his doorstep with a tub of ice cream, popcorn, a couple pizza delivery coupons, and a small cake from the grocery store across the street (he was mildly amused she hadn't dropped them all on her way up to his apartment).
He was grateful for her presence---it was certainly better than the fancy dinner party Mytho wanted to plan for him, and when she was all smiles and bouncy steps like this, he couldn't help but think it to be a better birthday present that he could ever ask for.
It all started innocently enough.
There was a pizza delivery and some casual gaming (and several infuriating blue shells), but after the exploding cans of soda, the frosting smearing across her chin, and side-splitting giggles and chuckles from nothing at all, Fakir found himself sprawled out on his couch, her arms around his neck, his hands at her shoulders, their lips moving eagerly against the other's.
... 'Nevermind,' he thought, pulling back to stare at her in awe, at her wide eyes and shy smile and blushing cheeks, 'this is the best birthday present I could’ve ever asked for.'
