You know I'd love to ask about the Applin one, but I'll let it be a surprise. Instead I wanna hear more about the lu-pokemon fusion wip 👀👀 how's it going?
I haven't made much progress on it lately, but I do have this scene written that I'm kinda proud of.
The Lost Forest was a source of endless fascination for Link. All of Hyrule was teaming with nature and magic, but none could come close to the way it hung in the air here - save maybe Satori Mountain. It danced with every leaf, made the air feel lighter in his lungs and the soil softer between his toes.
It felt a little like home.
Link dropped down so that he was sitting nestled in the roots of a tree. Not the Great Deku Tree, but one of others that were abundant here. Scooting back so that he could nestle himself deeper, he let his head drop back against the trunk. Maybe he’d take a nap. He’s sure the Great Deku Tree wouldn’t mind waiting a few more hours. It’s not like he’d made an appointment.
A rumble above him made him open his eyes. Lucario stood above him, blocking out whatever sun managed to break through the canopy of leaves above them. He had Link’s shoes in one paw.
“Thank you Lucario, but I don’t need them here.”
“Grh,” Lucario held the shoes out to him anyway. Link didn’t sigh, but it was a near thing.
It’s been nearly three months since they finally released Hyrule from the Calamities foul presence and things were still… off between him and Lucario. It was in the way that Link no longer knew how to fight alongside someone else, and how Lucario kept expecting him to move one way and was brought up short when he went the other way.
