No you aren’t. You deserve adult time. Let their husbands take care of the babies. Yeah right.

I apologize on behalf of my people. I know in my case, I hear myself doing it and am screaming DON’T TALK BABIES inside my brain, but the baby verbal diarrhea continues because I have lost ability to conversation.

This is pretty much the bane of the child-free people…and it doesn’t go away, I’m sorry to say. You’ll get really adept at steering the conversation away from baby talk!

I feel your pain.
It's not even that I don't like kids or anything like that -- you guys know how much I love my niecelings and nephews -- but it's never like this when I'm with any other group of friends who have kids.
And I get it, they are new, first-time moms, and that's a big deal for them and all, and I really don't mind when it's one of the topics of conversation, but when it's the only thing they want to focus on it makes me crazy.
I think a lot of it is that it's particularly IM who does it. She does it purposely because she's an inconsiderate attention seeker. When it's just been HH, and RS (HH is due in a few weeks, RS is trying) the topic comes up, naturally. We have questions, ask how everything is going, normal things, and then we move on, talk about stuff that is going on with everyone else and maybe circle back to it, but it's never the prime focus for the entire evening.
With IM though, it's like she relishes it because she knows she can dominate conversations even more so, now. Like, last night, the 4 single ones in the group, Agnes, myself, MG and LK separated ourselves a few times (we were at LK's new place, which is small, so we were still in the same room essentially, just off to the side from the baby brains) just so we could focus on something else. AND, what pissed me off the most was at one point, the baby got really fussy and was wailing really loudly while LK and I were talking and it was hard to hear any conversation, but IM just let him wail, rather than take him to another room or see if he needed feeding or changing or something. And, I can't help feeling IM was slow about reacting to it on purpose because god forbid that she and the baby not be the centre of attention at all times.
The best example of this (and the same thing happened last night) is the last time we played CAH at my place, IM showed up late (she was still pregnant at the time) and we were already in the middle of the game. As soon as IM showed up, she refused to play, started talking about their pregnancies with HH and derailed the whole game. She said it was fine for us to continue playing, but anytime it was Agnes' turn she would talk over Agnes about pregnancy stuff. This is typical shit when she's around. It's just very frustrating and I feel like a total bitch because I'm the only one who says anything about it.
Sorry, this went way longer than I intended for it to.
Harry Potter?
Yay! I get one :3
my favorite female character: Fleur Delacour. She was just really amazing but the movies downplayed her greatness.
my favorite male character: Ron Weasley. He was just the best to me. Most real character.
my favorite book/season/etc: Order of the Phoenix, mostly because majority of what was in the book was actually exploring the wizarding world and how the school functions rather than Harry saving the world.
my favorite episode (if its a tv show): N/A
my favorite cast member: Rupert Grint. My baby.
my favorite ship: Fleur and Bill.
a character I’d die defending: Fleur. Forever Fleur.
a character I just can’t sympathize with: Molly Weasley. How she treated Hermione and how easily she accepted Harry but not Hermione or Fleur. The hate on Fleur was unnecessary.
a character I grew to love: Luna Lovegood.
my anti otp: Harry and Ginny. Dude he just married a younger version of his mom.
