“You know, I don’t think we’re qualified to be checking how well trees are planted.” Sending a TA that specialized in STEM and a history professor of all people seemed a little cruel. Maybe like the start of a really boring joke, even. Thinking back, she probably took a single biology class in her whole academic career.

Checking the clipboard that held the tree planting standards for the #TeamTrees movement, she compares it against a newly planted tree nearby. She couldn’t complain too much. It was preferable to actually lugging around the saplings and planting them herself. Besides, it was useful, right? “Have you ever been to one of these events before? I don’t think I’ve ever seen one in person.”

  RESPECTING authority has never come easy for him. more often than not, adults have disappointed him. he sees no reason to feign niceties with elders -- not any more so than he does with anyone else, that is.

  which is exactly why when he’s called to his history professors office ( a boring subject, far too boring for him to care about, ) regarding a test he had missed, he makes no effort to hide his indifference. his head cocks to the side, tone purposefully too surprised by this ‘revelation’ to possibly be genuine, testament of how little he cares.

      ❝ what ? there was a test ? seriously ? i had nooo idea ! i must’ve slept through the part where you said that ! silly me, always dozing off in the most interesting classes && missing the important stuff.. ❞ an obvious lie to anyone that had eyes. no matter how tremendously boring a class was, he would never fall asleep during it.

      ❝ but it’s no biggie. i can just take a make-up test or whatever, so no harm, no foul ~ ! phew, i am so relieved we got that worked out ! ❞

"Ah, Professor Velvet!” One of the perks of living in the apartments was just the simple fact that a lot of the professors seemed to also be in the same building. Some people might have considered that troublesome, but for an overachiever like Lili, it was perfect. She wasn’t shy about flagging down professors and the like whenever she needed help or anything. 

“Sorry, but do you have a moment? I’m Lili... Lee from your Tuesday morning world history class.” Most faculty members knew about her unique name situation, but she had to keep it in mind more often. “I had a question about the assignment - yes, I know it’s a little early on to have questions about assignments, but I just wanted to make sure I was understanding the readings properly.”
