Whoever that was curled up beneath the large sycamore tree, they reminded Legato of the dead animals he used to see on the road. It was uncanny how some of them looked like they were fast asleep, when in reality, their hearts stopped beating a while ago. His understanding of death was an intimate one, even at a young age. So, even though he was possibly wandering up to an abandoned body, the boy approaches regardless to satiate his curiosity.
Nobody else in the city park seemed to notice him on the ground. Legato knelt down, wide eyes staring down at the other child, unblinking. And he reaches out, prepared to prod and potentially loot him, until he saw the rise and fall of his chest, indicating life.
A part of him was mildly disappointed. This was just some slumbering stranger, albeit a beat up and miserable looking one. No trinkets to be swiped. Anybody else would get up and leave, but instead, this strange, hag-haired boy felt compelled to follow through with nudging the blonde child with both of his open palms.
" Are you dying? " He asks bluntly.
At least this was a comfortable looking space to do that.
