31 Dec 2016. Day 31 #AmpersandDec16: Count. 3, 2, 1! Not long to go until the new year. In 2016, I read 72 books, posted more than 1000 photos, gained nearly 20,000 followers on Instagram (surpassing every single goal I dreamt up along the way), flew to five different countries, took on some exciting projects, made a bunch of new friends and lost others. 2016 hasn’t been a particularly easy year but it’s taught me some valuable lessons and I’m looking forward to bigger and better things in 2017. Stay safe during your New Year’s Eve celebrations! Love you awesome nerds.

30 Dec 2016. Day 30 #AmpersandDec16: Wrap-up. Bless you, quick reads. Bless you. I’ve officially completed my 2016 Goodreads challenge, but I’m on a bit of a roll so I might just finish reading Gemina before the end of the year. I’m nearly halfway through so there’s a definite possibility. Fantastic Beasts was hands down my favourite read out of these books. I love the story and the design is just... I can’t even. MinaLima is incredible. Can you see any of your favourites here?

29 Dec 2016. Day 29 #AmpersandDec16: Winter. Oh, winter. You beautiful and illusive season. Winter in Australia is pretty tame, at least where I live. We don’t get any snow, and the weather rarely dips to single digits in Celsius so it’s really not that cold compared to winter in other parts of the world. But it means I get to wear jeans every day, which is great because I own very few pairs of pants or skirts, and I get to wear jackets and scarves, which look excellent on me. While I wait for winter to return for the next six months, I’ll just get my fix with this Winter Court candle from @TheMeltingLibrary. TAGS: #bookstagrammademebuyit by @victoriavanvlear ❄️❄️

28 Dec 2016. Day 28 #AmpersandDec16: Summer. I'm melllllltttttiiiiiiiinnnnnngggggg. Just kidding. Christmas was actually not terribly hot here in Brisbane, which is unusual. And when it does get a bit too hot in the middle of the day, we now have AIR-CON. So glorious. These book spines are basically what summer in Australia looks like: scorching death, greenery, and the healing powers of a swimming pool. Can you see any of your favourites here? 27 Dec 2016. Day 27 #AmpersandDec16: Lost. On this day 112 years ago (holy heck), the Peter Pan play opened in London. That just blows my mind a little bit. It's been so long since I've actually read the Peter Pan novel but I do love adaptations and the Finding Neverland movie will always make me cry like a little baby.

It's been a pretty great day with my immediate family and a few friends. Now I'm going to pass out from exhaustion. Hope you're all having a wonderful time with your loved ones!

24 Dec 2016. Day 24 #AmpersandDec16: Before. 'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house everyone was wide awake because we're grown-ups with no set bedtime and some of us are still baking. I just made a batch of Swedish Pepper Nut biscuits from a recipe I found at work and they're just as delicious as I remember! Can't wait to share them with everyone tomorrow! What's your favourite biscuit? (Americans, I'm talking about what you call cookies.)
