You know. Depending on how Bede lost his legs in your prosthetic headcanon, it could explain why he wanted rose to love him so much.
Like, imagine you are a child without legs in an orphanage. Everyone thinks that you are weird. That you are a freak of nature. That this is the reason why your parents didn't want you.
But then an nice man comes to the orphanage, talks with you and gives you attention. Gives you legs, so that you can finally walk like all the other kids.
No wonder that he was so loyal to rose and how horrible it must have been for him to be cast away
exactly, he was either born without legs or had to get them amputated when he was very young (which could contribute to why his parents left him, because they couldn't provide for his needs). and when rose adopted him, he got custom designed macro cosmos prostheses.
he felt really lost after rose ditched him. he didnt feel like he deserved anything rose gave him, especially his legs.
later (probably when he gets a damn therapist) he realized that rose selected him to endorse because adopting and providing prostheses for a disabled orphan helped rose's reputation a lot. like if a celebrity irl did that, the press would go crazy praising them.
also, prosthetic headcanon or not, is everybody going to ignore that bede literally worked in the mines without supervision at like 10-13
