Raubahn the amputee cat update! I few years back I reached out to the FFXIV community to tell the story of my little munkin who lost is leg. I work in a vets office and a woman had brought in this small, feral 8 week old kitten. She flat out demanded we euthanize the poor scared thing. The arm was totally crushed and no one knew what had really happened. She had managed to trap him, and now was bringing him to deaths door instead of giving him a chance at life! She said “If you do not euthanize him, I will let him go in a field to suffer and die. We’re not caring for this cat.” Needless to say, that woman and her husband now have eight cats and care/Vet them regularly! This even includes a knee replacement surgery for one they picked up one month after Raubahn. Gotta love people who play god!! Anyway...

My vet where I work and the business owner offered to help with the amputation and I was also given around $75.00 from friends that donated to help me out with his medication and initial care. At first this little fella was horrified of faces, hands, feet. All he wanted to do was to rip your face off! During the operation he was SUCH a trooper. I have never seen an animal SO freaking brave. Helping hold the limb of this tiny animal as it was being removed broke my heart but I knew soon he would feel much better and could have a chance at life. We had a few close calls during the operation where we were not sure if he would make it.... BUT HE DID! What jubilation!! Shortly after the surgery, and even through his obvious discomfort, he warmed. As time has gone on this little guy has become the most loving and affectionate cat anyone could ask for. Yes, he will shy from strangers! But if you are in the circle of trust... he will unicorn-jump to meet your hand as you bend down for purrs and head boops! His best friends are a 98 lb. white German Shepherd and his partner and crime, Sir Moki Mochi! Both can be seen in the pictures above. This little warrior is TOUGH and STRONG as a bull!! Just much smaller and cuter and... well, details. I hope you enjoy seeing him grow into the big fluffy ten pound love-nugget he is today! 

As a last note, the lesson I have learned from this little guy is that we might not be perfect in a lot of ways... but just because we don’t work the right way, look the right way, or speak the right way... that doesn’t make us unworthy of love or a happy life!! We are all perfect in our own way. It’s just a matter of finding where and with whom we belong. Don’t settle for less and love yourself! :* Have a great night, y’all!
