The path to heaven runs through miles of clouded hell right to the top / Your time will come if you wait for it – Amsterdam 04/02/2016 – 07/02/2016

06/02/2016 – Amsterdam Culture Day
The next morning we waited for Sully to say goodbye because he had to leave again that noon already. Of course Lea asked him to write in her book – Tine had such a book as well and did the same. We asked a lady to take a photo of all of us so we had a squad pic.
And we hugged so many times before we finally went to find a Starbucks to have some “proper” breakfast. Starbucks was fun because Lea's name was the only one they got spelled right. The funniest was by far Lo's: Cory. Mine ended up as Feebee and Tine ended up being Tina. So we more or less had new nicknames for a while. Our next way led us to the central station to meet up with some more squad people: Tom, Caya, Rachel, Adva, Thi and Bronze.
For sure we took some pics of beautiful Amsterdam before we went off to the museum area to meet up with the others. While wandering through the streets of Amsterdam, I first ever got to smell the smell of weed because that's what this city pretty much smells like.
Also we had some talks, mostly about the last night and how perfect it just was. Adva, Caya and the ID Netherlands team had also been in Brussels and they all said that they had never thought any concert could top Brussels but Amsterdam did. This made me so happy. I also told Adva that if anyone would have told me I would be in Amsterdam with a squad out of people having come together from all over the world just to see the band I love the most with them a year ago, I would have laughed. I couldn't have believed it because last year this time I wasn't even a part of the fandom because I kinda was too shy to join, I was like the shyest person ever. Adva totally agreed with me. So awesome. At first it was said that we would go to have lunch with Jesse and Breezy before visiting the museums. While we were waiting for the rest of the squad, Lea tried taking photos of Tom (she also took some selfies) but Tom never looked. SO for some time it was kind of a fun game:
Lea: Tom
Tom: Looks somewhere but not directly at her
Lea (taking a pic anyways): *click*
I'll shorten that so it's like: Tom *click*
Tom *click*
Tom *click*
And so on. It was so funny we're still laughing about it.
Marty, Vania, Sergio and the Hirschmeier family arrived with Breezy. Many hugs were given and in between we kinda checked if we had already hugged everyone. That was funny. Then a group of street artists started their performance. They were totally awesome. They set up a stage using a rope. Our squad stood where it belongs: Front row.
Those guys had buckets as their drums and did some break dancing to the beats of it. They were all dressed in red and they were so entertaining. Before they did their great finale, they went around with two of their buckets asking for some money so they could make a living from their street art. Every time someone gave them more than 5 euros they went “stop the show” and asked the person who gave the money where they were from and did a special dance mostly based on any random cliche about that country. Breezy ended up being a “super rich lady”. The whole show was pretty entertaining and so funny. I really liked it. We went on to taking some photos on the “I amsterdam” letters, just for the books.
Then we went to the Van Gogh museum with the squad. I didn't take any pictures of the incredible artworks inside but I really enjoyed walking around in there. At some point, I stood next to Breezy and we both found out that we couldn't draw such masterpieces because we would basically lose patience with all the details. For some more while, we walked around together having a talk about our pets in the end. Mostly about the differences between cats and dogs – I'm such a cat person. For sure, training dogs is easier but I told her how I still tried to train my cat when I was younger but I failed badly because cats are too stubborn for that. Or at least mine is. Cats are just so much more individual. We also found out that we both love the birds singing in the morning – the reason we feed them all year. It was so amazing walking around and talking with her.
I was one of the first ones to get out the museum so I had to wait a while with the others before the squad was complete again. In that time I regretted that I had lost Lea on the way through the museum because she had my water with her because my handbag was too small for the bottle. In that Time, Chrisi and Tati got a present and were so happy and their happiness about it was so sweet.
Next up on the program was the Rijksmuseum (Reichsmuseum). Sadly, we didn't have much time left until the museum would close for the day. Due to this, we kinda hurried through the museum and we didn't even see all. But as soon as we had lost the rest of the squad (some of us had even come later with Marit because she had friends who had to leave) Tom and I ended up walking around there together talking about the last night and how amazing it just was – how could we actually talk about anything else; it was the best night we ever had. When we were through, we gathered at the entrance stairs. Breezy joined us sitting around. It was just so awesome that she just spent the whole day with us.
Meanwhile, the plan had been changed from having lunch with Jesse and Breezy to having dinner with them. So we went to the Hard Rock Cafe where it should take place. Before, we met Jesse who had been ice skating for a while on the little ice skating area that had been made up close to the “I amsterdam” sign. We got us something to drink before we actually went over to HRC. Jesse was being so sweet with all of us again. While on the way, the confusion began: Some people said, the dinner was just supposed to be for the fan clubs and the TRF team, others said it was for all. This went on for somewhat like one or two more hours we were hanging around outside HRC and freezing. I think I don't have to mention that we were exhausted as hell and my legs and feet were hurting like never before. But we also used the time to take some selfies together (I'm still so heartbroken that mine didn't get saved because my phone's SD card had a little crash). From time to time, to get a little warmer again, we randomly went into one of the souvenir shops mostly without buying anything. It was just so damn cold and we were so exhausted that that little bit of warmth was so comforting and welcoming. The dinner confusion ended up with almost everyone of the squad who had still been there being “allowed” to go to dinner with Jesse and Breezy and only like Lo, Tine, Jana, Lea and me being left out but told to not go away too far so we could have a quick meet up after the dinner. We went to Burger King because we were really hungry (I don't know I didn't eat too properly in Amsterdam all the time because my stomach was being a little drama queen as always). Inside BK it was so warm and we were so tired that when we had gotten our food we kinda hung over the table eating in somewhat super slow motion and almost falling asleep while waiting. At something around 10:45pm we were told that the dinner was taking longer than planned so we decided to head back to the hotel and sleep – we were just so tired you have no idea.
