Rewatching 'Private Practice': "In Which Addison Finds a Showerhead" 7/113
As a new segment on WhatSamWatches, I will now be doing more informal reviews/commentaries on what I'm watching. And it'll include shows I'll be rewatching just because I feel like it. I know I just did a review on Private Practice not that long ago but I'm not ready for it to be over. So I'm binging the show from the beginning all over again. So since I rewatched the fourth episode last week, we're now onto the fifth episode of Private Practice.
In Which Addison Finds a Showerhead
It might be super cringy but I love Addison's elevator dream of her and Pete. Especially since I always remember it making the season one blooper reel.
My parents definitely didn't let me have a sleepover on a school night. So Naomi probably got some cool points there. Or if she didn't, she at least should've.
Saying "you look hot" at the morning meeting probably isn't very professional. Pete should've just used the word "flushed".
The Runner
Leave it to Pete to offer his medical services without using drugs.
Nicole (the runner) definitely has the runner mentality.
I love that Charlotte's a fan. It's so random but I guess it's one way to get her in this episode.
I know athletes are competitive but the coach really took things too far.
It's pretty unprofessional to punch a patient's coach. But I would also be pissed so I definitely get where Pete's coming from.
Dell's Solo Pap Smears
Considering the fact that Naomi's always the one that defends Dell, I can see why he had a crush on her for the entire first season (and backdoor pilot episodes). But it definitely feels like the writers forgot about it. Or they just knew they didn't want it to last long. Plus, I think the writers always wanted it to go back to Sam and Naomi eventually. But getting them together at the very last episode was definitely cutting it close.
A pap smear is definitely not the time to be flirting. Especially not with your doctor.
I love that Dell stands up for himself. And the patient just opening up her knees is hilarious.

As a new segment on WhatSamWatches, I will now be doing more informal reviews/commentaries on what I’m watching. And it’ll include shows I’ll be rewatching just because I feel like it. I know I just did a review on Private Practice not that long ago but I’m not ready for it to be over. So I’m binging the show from the beginning all over again. So since I rewatched the third episode last week, we’re now onto the fourth episode of Private Practice.
In Which Addison Has a Very Casual Get Together
I’ve gotten that teeth-falling-out dream more times than I can count.
I don’t know if other people still feel this way about RSVPs, but I too like getting an (digital) RSVP to know who’s coming. Or at least some kind of confirmation.
They really made Sam’s live TV appearance as if he were Oprah. Addison really got inspired by “I’m a strong, proud bald man”? Also, the idea that your mind and body have to work together to keep you healthy is such a norm now. I don’t know if it was back then but it’s nice to see the idea behind Sam’s book still holds up.
I’ve never really thought of the Arm & Hammer logo as a guy. Because it’s literally just an arm. There is no head so we technically have no idea if he (of she, for that matter) is bald.
Pete’s Patient, Sylvie
It’s Owen’s mom from Grey’s Anatomy! I love that they rotate a lot of the same actors throughout all the Shondaland shows. But it does make it a little confusing at first for people who watch all the Shondaland shows.
Sylvie seems to really know Pete and his past. So I find it weird that she never comes back.
Well, at least Sylvie knew Anna. But we don’t really learn anything about her from Sylvie either.
But at least she likes the idea of Pete getting together with Addison.
I love how open Sylvie is about her sex life. Even though Stan clearly isn’t.
Cooper’s Patient, Michael
RUgh, I love Miles Heizer. And I love this storyline altogether.
These days, doctors (or anyone really) wouldn’t assume a male patient’s in love with a girl. Or at least, they shouldn’t.
Poor Michael. He asked a boy out and he beat him. Michael’s so brave to even ask Brian out at all. And at such a young age. I just want to give him a hug.
At least Brian helped Cooper find Michael after he went missing. And he apologized.
