Here's an incredibly cursed and somewhat concerning thing I recently learned:
Apricots, cherries, and many (if not most) other fruits with pits have cyanide in them. To clarify, they aren't actually cyanide, but the pits have a naturally-occuring compound called amygdalin which, if swallowed can convert to cyanide in your stomach. The poison is in the dose with these so if you accidentally swallow one or two cherry pits, you won't die. However, if you ate like a ton of cherries with pits, you not only will experience the bowel cleanse that accompanies the fiber in cherries, you could also experience cyanide poisoning (nausea, fever, insomnia, headaches, thirst, lethargy, low blood pressure, and even perhaps death) Cyanide causes cell death, how horrifying is that🙃
I've also discovered that the pits of green plum contain the highest amount of amygdalin so stay away from those👌
