Amyraldism (4-Calvinist)
So the more I’ve been learning the more I think I might be an Amyraldist. That the cross was a free gift for all people but that it only was applied to some people. It’s like if your parents give all your siblings food but only some eat it. I think the hardest part of Calvinism is understanding limited atonement. I’ll present my points of concern if anyone wants to answer @calvinistwoman, @my--darling--dear2, @coffeeman777.
1. Denying the Lord who bought them.
2 Peter 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
In this passage is says Christ’s blood bought them. The problem is that his blood is not applying to them because they “deny the Lord who bought them” and they’re subjected to destruction. I don’t think the “elect” are denying the Lord who bought them. The blood of atonement must be for all but not applied to all. The destruction is about hell and punishment for those who deny the Lord who did indeed die for them.
2. Savior of all especially of those who believe.
1 Timothy 4:10 For to this end we toil and strive, because we have our hope set on the living God, who is the Savior of all people, especially of those who believe.
In this passage is says the savior of all people but especially of those who believe. That means the saving work is only applied to those who believe but he did die for all.
3. Propitiation for sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:2-3 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
In this passage it doesn’t sound like the blood was just for the “elect” but for the whole world. It be available to everyone but only applied to some. The ones who keep the commands are the ones who prove to be the ones to who the blood is applied. The same word for world is used for the lost to who the blood is available but not in effect.
1 John 3:1 See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.
4. Knowledge given to accept God
John 5:19-20 We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
The difference between the lost world and the saved is not that God didn’t die for the saved but that the saved have understanding. The blood is for all people but not everyone has this understanding to let it apply to them. The atonement isn’t limited it’s the application of it that is limited.
5. Surprised at the unbelief.
Mark 6:6 And he marveled because of their unbelief. And he went about among the villages teaching.
Why would Christ be surprised at their unbelief if he knew he only died for the elect? He would have known “I did not elect these people or die for them” unless he died for everyone with the application only extending to some.
6. All have died and some live for Christ.
For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.
In this passage it talks about all dying with Christ and all dying. Then it says that they *might* live for Christ and the Lord who bought them. Christ still died and paid for them and owns them. He is still their Lord and bought them with the blood. The difference is they only *might* live for him. The salvation is not applied to them but it’s available to them.
7. Evangelism.
During evangelism if Christ only died for the elect it be lying to say “Christ died for you” unless he died for them. It be better to say “Christ may have died for you”. The way I see it right now is that Christ died for all but it’s only applied to some who do not deny the Lord who bought them and have understanding.

Anyways I’m not saying this as fact this is all my concerns and inquiries. I want to see what you guys think about it?
