Three small drawings have been added to my new Etsy shop: AmyTavernDrawing. Each drawing is a memory of a glacier I have visited during my different stays in Iceland. The paper is found newsprint with a light layer of gesso and a simple outline. Powered graphite fills in the form, a color and texture similar to the layer of ash that covers many glaciers. The series includes glaciers tongues and faults and is titled “Speaking in Tongues and Faults.”

Please do stop by the shop and take a look. All drawings and other works on paper (including photographs) are $50-$100, in keeping with my desire to create affordable, accessible works.

Periphery, one of the first pieces I made in graduate school is now available on my Etsy drawing and works-on-paper shop. I made this piece in 2015 after a field trip to Rodeo Beach and the Headlands just north of San Francisco. The print measures 25 x 25 inches and is $100.

I wrote a book of poetry. Start Here is a collection of single line and one word poems that I composed one by one while walking and running between August and October. The lines were written individually but there is a similar underlying feeling to them as a whole including thoughts on longing, searching, memory, and the ocean. They can be read as individual poems, as one poem, or as a kind of story. 

Ever since I wrote my thesis last year, I have been thinking about writing and words in a different way and have become very interested in creating works that use thoughts and words as materials. This thin volume felt natural to make and, though I’m a bit nervous to put it out in the world, I am very excited to share it.  I have included a detail of two pages here but will keep the rest quiet so that anyone who purchases the book will be surprised. 

So, yes, it is for sale for $25 and can be found on my Etsy drawing and works- on-paper shop, AmyTavernDrawing. Each book will be individually printed and the process will take about three weeks. The paperback book measures 8 x 5 x 1/8 in. and has 36 pages.

This one-of-a-kind is now available on Etsy. The Blow Cluster and Teardrops Pendant is a sculptural, asymmetrical piece with two teardrops and a cluster of small bow forms. It measures 2" x 2" x 1" and the chain is 22" long.

Last Thursday I told you I would announce a surprise this week and here it is: I have opened a new Etsy Shop, AmyTavernDrawing, for my drawings and works on paper. There are 35 listings right now including a selection of individual drawings from my latest project, Point Three Five. You will also find a few layered photographs, small drawings created in Iceland last summer, and more from my June installation Rock. I will continue to add more work frequently so please check back often.
