I have had a really good day with some truly amazing people :)
It was so good to see Amy after 4+ years! Even if she is now slightly taller than me and has BOOBSSS!
And it was awesome to see James and Vicky going almost head to head in Sopio (as Amy and I suck xD).
Vicky has also invited James and I to stay at hers next weekend for board/card/video games and pizza :D So hopefully that will happen coz it'd be awesome to have a nerd-fest :)
But yeah, I'm gonna have a quiet evening now because I've done so much talking and laughing today, I've actually got a sore throat! xD
Thank you guys, I love you all so much <3 <3 <3
Tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow tomorrow ♥
amytho91 replied to your chat: My mum thinks that fighting for LGBT rights is just part of the "PC" society we now live in.
I have had a very similar conversation with my mum once about this actually. The generations debate always seems to come up;. but i think, no one can really move forward if they are always stuck in the past.
this ^
Other than the generations thing, my mum keeps going on about how everyone is obsessed over being politically correct. I mean, she is partly right, because over a lot of things it has become ridiculous, particularly in terms of health and safety. But when it comes to basic human rights and a certain group of people having their rights denied, it has nothing to do with political correctness. It is as simple as I stated it there! I brought up the argument of women's rights and black's rights and all other historical human rights campaigns and asked her if she thought they were over obsessive and she said no, so I asked how does this differ and she started using the example of Elton John wanting his partner to also be a 'Sir' and how it's not necessary...
But why the hell not? If Elton John had a wife, she would be a Dame, so why can't his partner have the right to be a Sir? What on Earth is the difference?! :/ It may not be a matter of life and death, but it's the principle!
The same with marriage. No body NEEDS to get married. She was right about that. But if a couple wants to, why should anybody, much less the law, say that they can't? How does it affect anybody but the couple in question? And what makes that couple any different to a heterosexual couple?
I mean, another thing my mum brought up was reproduction and a child growing up in a stable home. Well, what about a heterosexual couple who can't reproduce? Should their marriage rights be taken away then? And not every heterosexual couple does get married but can still successfully bring up a family. AND not all heterosexual couples, married or not, can provide a stable environment. So what makes it such a certainty that a gay/trans* couple can't provide these things? In fact, the argument that most children in a gay/trans* couple are a result of thorough planning and discussion is incredibly valid. Most of the time they do have to go to extra lengths just to have children, so they are more likely to bring them up well.
Blaaaah I need to stop rambling. I'm just getting so pissed off with how ridiculous this all is. You'd have thought in our day and age it wouldn't be such an issue. Of course there are bound to be some people opposed to it, but I would have liked to have thought it would have been much simpler to legalise the lot without all this pointless arguing.
Yo Yasmin dear, i wondered if you got any photos of us from school? As i don't have any old jack hunt photos pre sixth form.
if I do, they're all on my old laptop which I need to organise and move stuff onto this one (which I will eventually do this summer!)... buuut I'll have a quick look on my old albums on facebook now :) there should be a couple on there
As explained before, my phone is downstairs and a kitten is weighing my lap down. When and where is this picnic taking place? And what should I bring with me?
Viiiickkkkkkyyyyyboooooooob<3
Next Saturday hopefully :)
Most likely central park I think, though I have no idea on times xD
I need to work out what time James is getting into Peterborough and if Amy has any time restrictions [hey Amykins, gimme a prod?] and if you have any yourself :)
Bring anything you would like/enjoy and if you do happen to be in a baking mood around that time, Amy and I will make many overly sexualised moans and groans while eating whatever you make to show you how much we appreciate it <3
Ahh, it's alright! I had a lot of plans i wanted to do and none of them are happening. But i am looking forward to the picnic! :D:D:D xx that IS something i am looking forward to :D
yaaay ^_^
I'm sorry about your other plans though :(
but I promise we'll spoil you =3
My friend Vicky said she and her boyfriend could also join us, and she loves baking, so if I tell her about your birthday she will no doubt make you some cakes hehe =3
