Can I just...Sapnap appreciation post.

Sapnap did not have to let Mars go. He could have said hell no, killed Tommy, and left with a very alive Mars. But instead, he put his grudges with EVERYONE in the pet wars aside in order to fix his relationship with Tommy.

He decided that his most prized possession—something that’s been there since the beginning of the server—was less important than ending the conflict between his friends.

Guys, that’s like Tommy burning his discs.

You can tell Sapnap was nostalgic of when it was just Tommy and him teaming up together against the world, and them promising to be friends after the conflict tomorrow was the sweetest thing.

ALSO, SAPNAP RP APPRECIATION??? HE’S SUCH A GOOD VILLAIN AND OPPOSITE TO TOMMY, AND HIS ACTING IS PRETTY FUCKING GOOD. THAT SCENE WITH MARS??? THE BEATS? THE LINES?? THE DELIVERY??? SO FUCKING GOOD.

He’s successfully given his character an interesting arc, and he doesn’t get enough recognition.

From the beginning, it’s been about staying on top for him, but you can tell—underneath all that—Sapnap just wants someone to stay by his side. No matter what happens tomorrow, I just hope Sapnap finally has someone to ally himself with.

(Also, Tommy and Sap’s fight had me fucking rolling. It was so bad, LOL.)

okay, saw some of ur talk about whether c!dream deserves/should have redemption, but can i just ask that people not push “redemption via death?” please? thats done incredibly often in a LOT of media and usually so poorly that it has just left a bad taste in my mouth in general.

Exile him to the Arctic, keep him far away from Tommy, dont force any of the other characters to forgive/make amends/even like him, but…lets not do the whole death my redemption thing please. Im sick of seeing characters i find interesting be written off that way.

That’s actually a really good point.

Like I said in that ask, I personally don’t really want a redemption arc, mostly because the things Dream did were horrible, and he’s shown zero remorse for his actions.

I think we’re all on the same page when I say nobody wants Dream anywhere near Tommy, even if he has a redemption arc. If Dream were to get redeemed, it doesn’t erase his past or the horribly abusive things he’s done to Tommy. At this point, I think it’d be difficult to properly execute one, and I really enjoy Dream being a villain.

As for the death redemption, I don’t think Dream would die for a redemption, but I see the appeal my other anon had in it, simply because they were talking about how they missed morally gray Dream but wanted him away from Tommy.

However, you raise an excellent point in saying that it may fall flat. Dream dying for redemption would make for a forced feeling of sympathy in the audience, which we want to avoid at all costs. I don’t want the other characters—or the audience—to feel indebted to Dream (or feel guilty of his death), and if his death means they have that feeling, I don’t want it.

If I had to have a Dream redemption I’d probably exile him to the world border, LOL.

But yeah, I definitely don’t want to come across like I want Dream to buddy up to Tommy, have a redemption arc, and sing Kumbaya around the fire.

Dream and Tommy’s relationship is criminally underrated. Like when they were in a call alone in Tommy’s stream today, Tommy seemed bothered by Dream not siding with him.

“Why would you not team with us?”

“Tommy. I’ve never been on your team.”

“You don’t have to be mean—I’ve never been your team.”

Tommy was pouting LOL.

The brotherly vibes I get from those two, I swear. Dream, even after declaring that he’s now against Pogtopia, lets Tommy get away with his shenanigans, and messes around with him in the embassy. Dream always seems to want to play both sides, never fully commiting to being the bad guy. Dream’s too attached LMAO.

Tommy really just collects brothers, lol.
