The clinic had been busy all day - Anaismae hadn't even had time to eat a proper lunch. The aurin felt dead on her feet, but chuckled to herself at the thought. -What doesn't kill you makes you stronger.- She mused, collapsing into the rolling receptionist chair. The door chimed as another patient entered and she stood, eager to help."Hi, I have an appointment with... uh... oh dear. Maybe you can transfer my appointment to the Thayd Clinic?" The purple haired, blue aurin chittered nervously, her belly showing a definite bulge of the expecting."I'm sure our doctors can-""I'm not getting a shot from a doctor called Payne." The aurin snapped, a tremble going through her curly ears. "Just... please. No.""We do have another doctor on call, I can try to fit you in with him? It might take a bit though, he just went on break." Anaismae gave the aurin an encouraging smile, who shook her head adamantly."Ana, are you still out here?" Dmitriy descended the stairs. "Ah, a guest!" He exclaimed. "Why didn't you say so?""I'm just on my way to the other clinic." The blue aurin began to retreat to the door."Nonsense." Dmitriy dismissed, picking up her chart and flipping through it. "Ah, Miss Shadowreaver. Just a flu shot?""It's not necessary Doctor Payne!" The aurin's voice had elevated to a shrill octave. "Other clinic, now I go!""Nonsense." Dmitriy scoffed, nodding Anaismae. "I'll take you now. Artyom is out for the rest of the day, please let his appointments know?""I believe she was the last one.""Ah, very well then." He smiled at the aurin, "Let me introduce myself. Doctor Konstantinov at your service.""Konstantinov?" She hesitated before approaching him, "Cayenne." Her tail swished with agitation. "But... you have my chart, you already knew that. Fine, since I'm already here..." She stomped up the stairs, leaving Dmitriy and Ana in the lobby. The mordesh went to the door, opening it to place the closed sign on its hanger, then locked the door."Anaismae, go home and rest. Doctor's orders. You're looking pale." He chuckled."The best doctor's orders I've heard recently." She forced a smile. "What about your clients?""I'll manage." He began to walk to the stairs, but was stopped by Ana's hand on his."Dmitriy?""Hm?" He looked down at just the right moment. She bounced up, planting a quick peck on his metal jaw, obviously meaant for his cheek."Thank you." She whispered, disappearing before he could recover from his surprise.
