An OPEN LETTER from the Previous Mods of Analog Nation to Mike Rex and AN members

Good day everyone. Let me start with we miss you all.

We deem that we have given enough time for Mike to air his side to the events that transpired. We think it's time for us to air our side this time. 

We know the question foremost to the mind is WHY WE RESIGNED?

We resigned because Mike asked us to do so. Some of us are no longer in the group because Mike explicitly asked him/her to leave or was removed from the group. According to him, the direction that the group is going is different from that which he envisions. That the mods ideas are no longer on the same path as his. And he chose to remedy this mismatch of ideas by asking us to vacate our positions. 

We would have been amenable to his decision had he told us personally and with all due respect. Unfortunately, that is not the case. We would like to point out that we did not volunteer to be mods. Mike requested that we take care of the group since he feels he may no longer be able to manage it. And we did, as best as we could.

Things would have not escalated to this level if not for the behavior of a certain AN member we are choosing not to name. S/he called us names, of particular import are the words: attention-grabbing whores, imbeciles and retards. In addition to that, s/he insulted our IQs; and, as we found out just recently, is spreading lies about us. 

Mind you, s/he did not mean "US" as the mods, but "US" referring to those who attended the 2nd picnic.

In view of this, we opted to stay silent about the issue. However, we realize we can no longer do that if we want to clear our names. 

To Mike, we regret that years of friendship had come to this. We always had your back. It was saddening to find out, you didn't have ours. We regret that you believed him/her without even asking us first for our side of the story. We regret that things went this way. If only respect was given where due and friendships valued more. If only words better left unsaid, were left unsaid and ideas are made to coexist. 

But then, there's no good in regrets. We are choosing to leave this issue behind us. We formed a new group bound by the same love and respect for cameras and shutters and the lovely moments they capture on film. Everyone is welcome to join. 

We don't miss the Analog nation. We miss the PEOPLE comprising the Analog nation, the  photowalks, the jokes and the banter, the wealth of ideas and good will. Hope you (AN members) can join us, the Shutter Revolution, as well.
