Ana Sagar Lake in Ajmer is also a place to spot several migratory birds. One of them are seagulls. They are not hard to spot. They come flying in December and stay till February. To enjoy the winter guest, people go to visit Baradari and Chowpaty and often feed them biscuits. It's a eye catching moment to see people feeding seagulls. Many a times people hold the biscuits in their hands and wait for the seagulls to eat it from their hands. The best time to visit Ana Sagar Lake for bird watching is in January. It's the time when almost every breed of birds come nest at the lake. Bird Migration is the largest migration we see on earth every year. It happens when Northern and Southern Hemisphere experience extreme cold. These birds start to migrate in large number towards the equator travelling thousands of miles. . . . . Ana Sagar Lake is an artificial lake situated in the city of Ajmer in Rajasthan state in India. It was built by Arnoraja (alias Ana), the grandfather of Prithviraj Chauhan, in 1135 -1150 AD and is named for him. The catchments were established with the cooperation of local inhabitants. The lake is extended over 13 km (8.1 mi) (8.1 mi). The Baradari or pavilions were created by Shahjahan in 1637 and Daulat Bagh Gardens by Jehangir.
