Today is my birthday

I was talking to one of my close friends about how Tony didn’t deserve to die and she said that he did deserved it.

Lemme just be clear that this friend didn’t watch ANY of the MCU movies apart from Infinity War, and she won’t see them because “they’re really boring and long” and I think she said stupid once. And I’m not exaggerating.

So when she told me that I was like ‘bitch what?’ And I told her “No he didn’t, that was a shitty ending for him and a painful one” and then she said “Yes he did” and she was about to add something about what she heard from some antis I think, but I wasn’t having it, so I snapped back really quick and said in a very sarcastic way “Oh yeah? From all the movies that you’ve seen, why do you think he deserved to die?”

Now she’s not talking to me (because she’s petty and doesn’t like when someone responds to her in that way) and telling everybody behind my back that I’m the petty one who doesn’t like to hear the truth...

It’s so weird how fandom works. It’s such a rabbit hole? Like, a few weeks ago I was like ‘oh, Jace on his tippy toes when he hugs Alec, that’s kind of cute’. Cue to me now almost crying just thinking about a jalec wedding?

I’m just going to embrace the fact that my blog is about to be 49% sh, 49% mcu and 2% everything else.

I honestly just want to be able to follow people and have the peace of mind that they won’t end up directly or indirectly calling me gross/a demon/etc.

The funny thing is that I love Jace/Dom/Clace/Jalec as much as I do today thanks to the people that hate them.

I never actually talked about this but my blog started mostly as a Malec blog which meant that I followed Malec blogs too. I did, however, love ALL of the characters. This meant I soon started having a problem: I’d see the most heartless shit on my dash regarding Jace and Dom I could possibly imagine. I started unfollowing/blocking and soon I was basically following no one. I decided that if I followed blogs focused on Jace this would probably happen less. Many of these turned out to be Jalec blogs that had in some way or another mentioned that they wouldn’t post hate.

Eventually, my exposure to them + how much I was defending them just made me love them. So thank you for that I guess lol

I can’t understand why this is even an issue. Why are people willing to hurt a REAL human being over this? How is that not a bigger issue than whatever someone is doing with fictional characters? I honestly don’t get it.

I want to watch Stargate SG-1 properly instead of catching a couple of episodes every time it reruns on TV but I don’t think I’m ready for that kind of commitment.
