Magic Relations

The magical diagraph to get a general idea on how stuff relates to one another in my story (mostly Ancients and Champions but generally in all my stories):

And which Ancient is connected to which soultrait.

Determination/Survival = Fate Perseverance = Nim Patience = Past and Future Integrity = Death Kindness = Life Justice = Judge Bravery = Knight

The circle also shows which magical traits are easiest to use for each person with certain traits.

Example (obverse the coloured dots in each coloured area for reference): Someone with a kindness soul main ability and magic will come from the kindness area. But, each soul trait has overlap with the other soultraits, meaning each soul can in theory do stuff from other soul traits. The amount however differce a person. Someone with a kindness soul can be born in the area which only has the magic of the kindness soul (the area with the green dot (life)) will be able to do all the magic with a green dot but not any of the area's without a green dot but, the soul can also have been born in the area of the green and yellow area (green and yellow dots) which means that soul will be able to do both that area, and the purely yellow and purely green area.

As you can imagine, This can become a lot for a soul to handle and the soul will start to pick and choice what it can do.

Example: Papyrus has been born in the little grey area right near the middle but still in the Bravery zone. Meaning he has a large field of things he can do and only a very little zone of things he can't do. But because he has the ability to use as many of the zones as he has this is hardly noticeable.

Example: Error is on the other side of this spectrum. He only has integrity but thanks to his own skill and stubborness he has managed to copy every other zone wiht the use of little overlap his own magic field has and a lot of stubborn energy.

As you can see, depending on where in the 'zone' each soul is born it depends on which skills the soul has available. The soul itself may have the Justice trait but the magical abilitys would be equally bravery as it is justice.

And that is a very short explanation on soultrait and magic connections and how it all influences stuff and why two people of the same soultrait may have completely different abilities.

Finished uploading my main story

Just uploaded the last chapter for Ancients and Champions.

I can't believe that after two years I actually finished the story.

Feels a bit double but I am happy I managed to complete it and fully upload it.

Howdy! I recently made a blog for recommending fics & I made a post on my personal recommendations, one of those being your Ancients & Champions fic. Is this alright? I find myself going back to my favorite parts & rereading. (Especially the scene with the reveal of Chara & Asriel. So emotion filled!)

Mermaid prompt list 2022 (No name yet, will most likely stay that) - 100% writen. 85% edited. Uploads will happen after I finish uploading A&C

Family Ties - 25% writen (ish?). 25% edited. General storyline in my head, just need to actually write the thing

I did it

I actually did it.

What did I do you may ask?

I finished it.

I just completed the main story for Ancients & Champions!!

The story I am talking about.

Rambling under the read more line

Okay! So. Obviously this is not the final final wordcount. Seeing as I will still need to edit the chapters and reread stuff but this is about the final wordcount.

And let me tell you. The last time i did an update like this I had just hit chapter 91 with writing and felt like I was close to the ending and said that if I had to write another 10 chapters I would go insane.

Oh silly me. Oh how I was wrong.

Because here we are. Not only did I write those last ten chapters but i OVERSHOT it.

It feels strange at this point to actually be done with writing the main story and main storyline. Again it isn't yet finished finished but the story has ended and it is... strange.

I should be relieved honestly. I have been writing this in my off time since we were still in a pandemic, 2021, and I am close to counting three years with writing it.

It was a journey and a half and honestly I think I am a better writer now than when I started. Hell when i reread some of the stuff i wrote near the start i still get the feeling i want to change some wording or characterization because along the process i really settled on hwo i wanted everyone to act and be. (really considering rewriting the sidestory about Error's backstory but i will contain myself for now)

The thing is. I never actually finished a fanficiton before. (and then she writes a 430K thing yes i can see the irony) it is just. I lost interest in the stories i wrote before so it is strange to actually finish this absolute monster of a fanfiction (aaayyyy i will show myself out)

I am not done with this universe I ended up creating just yet. The fact I started this whole thing because i wanted NightmareXSansXError things is still real funny to me. It just got out of hand so quickly and because i started with just writing for only myself it just kept growing.

But I loved the journey and everyone who on AO3 followed along and the few people here who are nice enough to follow me and my story.

It was a fun ride and as i said. I am not quite done with this universe just yet. But I would be lying if it isn't great that i now have more space to write other ideas i had. and i had quite a few ideas. We will see what the future brings.

Ancient of Determination

For an overview of the Ancients

This is Fate, the Ancient of Determination

Fate does not care what pronouns you use for them. She is okay with anything. She/he/they/it/xe. They will react to anything if he notices you mean them.

Fate, is a strange one powerwise. As They are not affected by the mortals. While other Ancients make Champions to get a better bond and reach to the earth and mortals on it Fate does not get this.

Fate is completely seperated from the mortals and will never form a connection like the other Ancients do. It is what is expected as the nature of Fate is after all.

This, as a result, means that when Fate names a Champion they can not give many of their powers over to the Champion. Unlike the other Champions who gain significant powers or skills, Fate's Champions only gain one thing, and always the one thing.

The ability to keep going.

It can have different names for a person, motivation, determination, go-getter. In the end it is the ability to get through the hardships and to keep going towards your goal.

Fate can make as many champions as they want as it doesn't cost them anything. The issue is that Fate can't unname a Champion as they never really gift any of their powers. Normally when an Ancient unnames a Champion they recall the gift of their powers. Making the Champion an ex-Champion as the powers get lost. But as Fate doesn't actually gift anything Fate can't recall it.

Meaning, Once Fate names you a Champion, a Wishmaker. You are always a wishmaker.

Which is nice... except that it can backfire as Fate doesn't bother to police his Champions or guide them which means that she just leaves them to do their own thing after naming them. Meaning that if a Wishmaker decides to use this power to keep going and keep getting up and unending motivation for more... negative gains. there is very little that can stop them.

(side note. Chara and Frisk. Both of them are Wishmakers, neither of them are aware because again, Fate doesn't bother to explain things. It is why when they were underground their power got hypercharged by the three natural leylines within the mountain and the barrier locking all the magic in place. It mean that their Wishmaker position got hypercharged and they could suddenly reset and save and load. Now that they both have been out of the mountain for a long time this ability disappeared once more. Ther are unable to manipulate the timeline anymore. No, Fate was unaware this happened.)

Because Fate doesn't need to form any connection with either her Champions or mortals in general they tend to not interact with anyone. He is always on the move and hardly stops for more than a few minutes to look around a spot to see if anyone needs a motivation boost before moving on. Fate doesn't need to rest either so she is forever moving and traveling.

Their form as fox goes mostly unnotices. this means he has been photographed multiple times but it hardly shows anything strange on camera (yes normal hunters have tried to shoot Fate before but Fate doesn't exactly have a physical form. people just assume they missed the fox and hope it doesn't go after their chickens).

But...

If you happen to find them at dusk or dawn. and happened to look at them just as the sun reaches the horizon. You may see some strange things about this fox. The way that the eyes seem to hold stars in them (the save star). the way that the light reflects of the fur making almost spiral motives. or... that for some reason... the shadow of the fox seems to show three tails...

It are tiny signs at just the right time. If, Fate stays still long enough for you to truly study them. As the moment you see them is also the moment you will see it continue on her path.
