I've seen a lot of different kinds of headcanons people have had for the kind of skin tone Emmet/Rex would have, ranging from being pale from his time in Undar to being more tanned from his time as Rex.

I personally lean more towards the tan skin tone headcanon, mostly because I think that he would have been out in the sun a lot more, based on his self-proclaimed jobs. But I also headcanon that while he was in Undar, he kind of just freezes in time.

I don’t mean he like stops aging, it's more of him reverting to that Lego minifigure state when he's in the real world, so things like sunlight and all wouldn't really affect him, meaning he wouldn't become pale from the lack of sun, or his hair wouldn't grow from the years of being left uncut, because now, he's a little plastic dude.

Though I guess Emmet would also be a bit tan, because he's a construction worker, and that would mean he has to be in the sun quite a lot.
