the best way to ethically consume something like this book is to buy it from a local bookstore instead of a huge chain and donate some money to the quileute tribe as well. i personally donated twice the cost of the book.

Don’t listen to people are who are bashing you for taking a mental health break from social media. I understand, not everyone can handle seeing the violence and the overwhelming amount of chaos. I had some breakdowns myself over it. I think as long as you acknowledge to yourself that police brutality is bad that it’s okay to keep to yourself. Taking care of yourself is very important. There’s a difference between ignoring the movement completely and not being able to cope with it.

And I also understand that for many black people, they feel they don’t have the liberty do take such a break. I know people who couldn’t sleep and were so worried about it, but they still have to go to work like everyone else. But don’t force yourself to HAVE to post every second of the day. But if you can, please do. Just imagine if it were your people, wouldn’t you want others to lend their support?
