Kaitlyn always had good grades, did what her parents told her etc. When Tony left when he just got back to being the Tony she knew was when her grades dropped a little but not enough for her parents to really notice.
Her 'issues' started getting worse when Anthea and Effy went to Italy Kaitlyn was left to stay with her dad, her dad was working so she didn't see much of him, she was occasionally getting an update from Effy and her mum but not very often. She was left at her dads for a while when they got back too, when she went back to her mums Effy was getting all the attention because of her break down ~ it shouldn't have bothered Kaitlyn but it did, she craved the attention Effy was getting so she started playing up at her home, shouting more often, getting into arguments and not doing what she was told. Her parents had a talk and decided they would send her off to private school, that just made everything worse (on top of witnessing the divorce) because it seemed like they didn't want her anymore and all they wanted was Effy and for Effy to get better. After a few years at being at the private school she started getting into fights more often, talking back to the teachers, attending parties, skipping classes and eventually stopped going to her classes completely she even slept with one of her teachers at one point but that wasn't found out, the school expelled her and when she arrived home Effy was in London, Tony was some where else and she was the only child at her finally getting the attention she craved but the thought "it's only because I'm the only child here, she has no choice but to give me attention." constantly running through her mind and the attention she was getting wasn't enough, she wanted more she started going to parties, staying out late, doing drugs and drinking a lot more then she did when she was at the private school.
