E. E. Cummings: "Whenever you think or you believe or you know, you’re a lot of other people: but the moment you feel, you’re nobody-but-yourself. To be nobody-but-yourself — in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else — means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting."

fic titles omg the thing i am least good at. but. how about 'acacia, the ill-gotten bloom' or 'it happened on tuesday (it was the dog's fault)' or 'how i learned to love a death metal robot band and also myself' idk
Acacia, the Ill-Gotten Bloom is obviously the title of a film noir movie, in which Liam is a down-on-his-luck private detective hired by homme fatal Harry Styles to track down the infamous Acacia, a priceless jewel bequeathed to Harry by his late elderly husband, movie magnate Ben Winston. Ben’s will is unfortunately nowhere to be found, and his odious children claim that he’d never have left such a family heirloom to Harry, even though Harry gave him the best years of his life, the very best.
Harry is positive the Acacia is hidden somewhere in Ben’s sprawling mansion, along with Ben’s will, the will which makes Harry the sole beneficiary of Ben’s entire fortune.
Of course it turns out that Ben Winston never bequeathed anything to Harry at all, having found shortly before his tragic and completely unpreventable death (those marble staircases are so slippery!) that Harry had been cheating on him for months with all the gratin. But by the time Liam discovers all of this, he’s already in too deep, in every possible meaning of the term.
That movie would also feature Niall as a stubborn cop who has followed Harry’s trail of tragically deceased elderly husbands through the entire american territory, and finds himself torn between seizing the chance to prove Harry’s hand in all those deaths and falling into Harry and Liam’s (utterly enticing) bed.
In the end Liam finds the Acacia (no will, however), Niall burns the evidence of Harry’s crimes, and they all live happily ever after for at least a year before Harry vanishes from one day to the next, only to reappear a couple months later, front page of every gossip rag, at the arm of rising radio star Nick Grimshaw.

Send me a made-up fic title and i’ll tell you what the story would be about!
