oh boy i’m sticking a big ol’ spoiler alert for v8 ch9 here right now
favourite thing about them he cares about Emerald (especially) and Mercury’s safety so much and has always gone out of his way to make sure they don’t get hurt even when it puts himself in danger? he has so much Dad Energy with them and i love it
least favourite thing about them my man has a lot of misplaced anger and took it out on Oscar but he’s working on it!
favourite line in v5 ch2 when he tells Adam “nobody needed to die today.” he’s quite a peacekeeper on the antagonists’ side and (mostly) against violence for violence’s sake and it’s really interesting? especially considering other people in Salem’s faction like Tyrian and Cinder
brOTP idk if it counts as a brOTP but again his dynamic with Emerald and Mercury is great
OTP Hazel is actually one of the few characters i don’t have a ship for at all. never really thought about it.
nOTP again i don’t really ship Hazel so i haven’t really thought about it
random headcanon he’s really great with animals! Hazel would absolutely have a horde of giant dogs that would jump all over him and he loves it
unpopular opinion idk if this is strictly unpopular but i do and have always thought Hazel is a good man. he was a good person who was overwhelmed by grief and rage and misplaced anger that took over. and now he’s seeing that he was wrong, and he was lied to and used, and while his actions in ch9 are certainly a fantastic start, i do think he has a bit more ground to cover for a complete arc (also part of me hopes if he’s alive that he dedicates himself to helping and teaching the kids especially Oscar okay)
