Bunny or Kitty!Princesa makes sense to me. Lalo...Lalo's stumping me. I know Nacho's something with big, big eyes. Maybe a lizard or an otter. Mikes...a bear? Or a big dog, I need recs. Maybe a wolf, but maybe Lalo's also a wolf? That feels right. This is making me realize I haven't played animal crossing in two years. Gus is a cat. I know that DOWN.

ugh i miss being able to just be cringe about fandom. the only other time ive felt such deep seated embarassment abt a hyperfixation is when it was on spamton. theres no reason for me to get this way about star trek because its a very popular and widely enjoyed show. and Yet

What do you think of WT and overwatch as a whole today? What are your hopes and expections for both? Personally, I still enjoy the game a lot. But for some reason I believe they absolutely cannot go another 3 years without some sort of story mode or just more comics and animated shorts. What do you think?

The game is still fun to pick up when events drop. Admittedly, I’m not playing as much during events as I used to. A lot of people who I used to play competitive with moved on to other things (other games, life happening, etc.), and they were the only people I felt comfortable playing with. I just need to stop being shy and maybe ask some people within some Discord servers I’m in if I can play with. Otherwise, right now I’m just slowly going through Sekiro. Thankfully, there’s Overwatch League, so while I do miss playing more, it’s also fun to watch pros play. 

As far as WT goes, I still ship ‘em since the game launched. I’m just old-fashioned and can’t abandon ship. Tracer’s been shown to have a long-running relationship with Emily (6 years, iirc? Proven through some of Storm Rising interactions), and that’s totally fine. Fanfiction exists, after all. WT endgame is honestly a far-fetched fantasy (though if they were to some how make it happen, as long as it respects all parties involved, I’m cool with it. Emily seems like a nice gal, so I definitely wouldn’t be down for them somehow killing her off…but again…that’s a far-fetched fantasy). I think Blizzard’s been careful about confirming any ships between heroes, or if they are confirming something, they’re only slowly slowly building it up (like the rest of their story, heyyyyy!). 

On their own, I’d like to see them develop Tracer as more than just the happy-go-lucky adventurer. I wanna see more struggles, or maybe take us more in-depth with how things were after she was recovered from the Slipstream? With Widowmaker, I’m on board with seeing her go through a redemption arc of sorts. I also want to see them flesh out more on how her relationship with Gerard was, and whether or not she actually does feel and remember things. I feel like if they were to do a redemption arc, it can be linked to Reaper, and it’s something me and a few other people are hoping for. Like, imagine Reaper joining Talon to kind of keep watch over Amelie as a sort of last wish from Gerard, one of his old friends? I say ‘kind of’ because he’s definitely got his own goals as well. (I’m of the idea that Gabe still cares for his Overwatch family, but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do…)

And as a whole, if we’re talking story, I feel like they’re trying to lay down more groundwork before moving the plot along. But I do admit, it’s going at a very slow pace. I understand this is something they’re trying to shape into something like the Marvel movie-verse. But like, with Marvel, they were releasing a couple of full-length movies yearly. With Overwatch, you get an animated short or two with a couple of comics to supplement the world building. It’s actually not a lot of content lore-wise per year. 

I’m with the crowd that’s been saying that a story mode of sorts should exist. If anything since they’re still in “Phase 1″, I think some kind of introduction mode for each hero to get used to their kit while also providing backstory would be neat. You don’t even have to create an entirely new map for this - just use maps that already exist and have certain objectives. For example, you can select Soldier: 76 in this hypothetical mode, and the story takes you to Dorado (maybe you can play out some events from his animated short). The objectives basically have you use his kit so you can get a feel for how to play him - something that gives a bit more than simply shooting around the training grounds? (I wonder if this is something that can be done with the Workshop???).
