YES. I am so impressed with Bakugou (and Kiri too). You have to wonder just how hard these boys worked to get so good before they even got training at UA. Bakugou has such incredible mastery over his and I am in awe. And then even just his regular physical ability? And how fucking buff he and (even more so) Kiri both are? At FIFTEEN. Like, what are they going to be like in their prime?
B R O my being impressed with Kirishima is a whole different kind of awe compared to the one I feel when I look at Bakugou, but boy is it there - Kirishima’s definitely less refined, and he’s still stumbling with his quirk a lot, there nothing of Bakugou’s elegance and control in him, but I mostly feel like that’s because he doesn’t think he can do anything fancy with his quirk at all? So for most part he isn’t even trying, or better he wasn’t trying till he started working on Unbreakable - but that’s exactly what’s so damn amazing about Kirishima, he’s a simple boy and he was, I dunno, fourteen at most and he wanted to be a hero and he had this quirk he sees as the most straightforward thing ever, not fancy, not flashy, BUT instead of going buhu my quirk is useless I’ll never be able to do anything with it he decided that he was gonna take the most he could out of it, and if that meant breaking his back working out then that was what he was gonna do
and it worked!!! he worked so hard and so much that his “not flashy useless quirk” made him second right after Bakugou in the entrance exam and he’s still!!! going!!!! so damn strong!!!! I’m impressed, gods am I impressed, it’s unrefined and he’s just realizing that he can take out even more out of his quirk and, yeah, he’s going slow because he always needs prompts to notice how much he can really do with his own quirk (Unbreakable came up thanks to Bakugou’s words after all) (...boy still hasn’t realized that he can make a spear just as strong as his shield with his hardening. Kiri. Kiri pls. I’m waiting for the moment he’ll realize that), but specifically because even while still not understanding just how strong his quirk is, even while still using maybe a tenth of his full potential constantly convincing himself that that’s his 100%, that there isn’t much more his quirk allows him, he still pushes forward and gets better - he doesn’t think he can! But he tries anyway!! That’s impressive, he’s so damn impressive, I’m impressed by how much he’s struggled and how much he’s grown and how much better he’s becoming b o i I love Kirishima Eijirou so much
