"Albert, come to bed dear, it's nearly 12am. You need to rest."
"Can't. Need to work on this report for Umbrella."
"You've mispellsd 'Umbrella' 4 different times now, I can tell your tired, so please, come to bed, Albert" You stand next to him gazing down at his eyes, dark purple eye bags contrasting against his pale skin. This wasn't healthy for him.
"But if I don't submit this report by the end of the week then I'll-"
"I'll do anything, I'll even read you a bed time story, just please come to bed. And what's umbrella gonna do to Albert Wesker, huh? You look at someone and they start to cry. You've single handedly kept the company alive for these few years. Just please, sleep Albert."
Glancing up at you, then back at his monitor, he sighed, then saved his document and switched the machine off. Wesker stood up from his seat, and stretched his back from the long hours he spent sitting and working on his documents.
"I knew you would listen to me. Now get into something more comfortable and get to bed please." He smiled at you, soft and sweetly, he found it so heartwarming you cared for him so much.
"Alright, but you'll cuddle with me, right?" He pulled off his pants and threw them, along with his shirt somewhere on the floor of you twos shared room.
"Of course. I don't think you'd stay in the bed any other way." You layed down in your bed again and waited for your lover to come into bed.
He got into bed and held you in his arms, he was warm, and smelt of mint. Just how he always did.
"Can you be the big spoon tonight..." he mumbled into your hair, half asleep already. You laughed to yourself and he let go, allowing you to roll over and hug him.
"Of course, darling."
“I’m better when I’m with you.” with Krauser and Leon, please, if you can
Leon was exhausted. Heavily he sat down on the bare ground, pulled his knees up and pressed his forehead against them. He would’ve given anything for a hot meal, for a decent bed and a few hours of rest, but he knew that they could barely afford to stop for a moment before they’d need to move.
They’d cleared this area, killed off every single thing that moved. As per usual there had been no survivors, only those infected and mutated and murderous. And now they were all gone, all taken care of, but Leon was so tired. After he’d gotten out of Raccoon City he’d thought that he would never need to go through something like that again but now? Now it was just another day at the office.
Suddenly there was a large palm on his shoulder, squeezing a little. Somehow Leon managed a tired smile, tilting his head up to look at the other man. “I’ll just. Give me a second.” He wasn’t proud of how his voice wavered a little, but he took solace in the fact that it was only Krauser who saw his weak moment. Krauser was his partner, in more ways than one, and he knew that despite the gruff exterior the man understood.
It had been barely a year, but it felt like they’d known each other forever by now. They were like polar opposites, in everything from their skillsets to their personalities, but somehow they’d never found it hard to function in tandem, to complete rather than cripple each other.
Yet despite knowing Krauser had his back, Leon was genuinely surprised when the man sat down right next to him instead of telling him to suck it up and get moving. “We’re close,” Krauser said, short and gruff. “Almost there.”
Leon truthfully hadn’t expected to be consoled, hadn’t expected any kind of verbal support. No matter what this thing between the two of them was, he knew Krauser wasn’t one for meaningful conversations. For someone who never seemed to be able to shut up Krauser ended up actually sharing precious little about what really went on inside of him.
So Leon didn’t think he’d get an answer, he only needed to vent out his feelings when he huffed “I will get a grip okay. I won’t be a fucking liability.“
“I’m better when I’m with you.“
Leon whipped his head around, staring at Krauser from wide eyes. “What?”
Krauser refused to look at him, stared resolutely into the distance. “I’m better when I’m with you,” he repeated obediently, even though he sounded clearly displeased about it. “You keep me sharp, you push me to try more.” He paused as if he was considering whether to go on or not, but then he finally turned his head to meet Leon’s gaze with his own. “But most of all,” he went on in slow, measured words, “you keep me more human.”
There were no words adequate enough to form a reply and Leon knew he was practically gawking.
Krauser held his gaze for a long moment, allowing the words to sink in. Then he heaved himself up from the ground, clapping Leon’s shoulder. “Ready?” he asked, and surprised Leon again by reaching out in an offer to pull him up.
With a nod, Leon grabbed the offered hand. As shaken as the sudden confession had left him, at least he didn’t feel like the world was crashing down on him anymore.
There was sheer determination in his steps as he followed Krauser.
