Pulling this from @uncannyfig’s comment on chapter 4 of stink bug au. I sadly don’t think I’ll be able to get into the whole “why the fuck does Pyro look Like That” in the main fic, so I’m gonna lore dump about it here :)
So in my lore, the Goldmsith line has a thing where, as they grow more powerful, their visual features change to be more conventionally beautiful/attractive. Scott was hot as a human, but as a full powered vampire he is ethereally gorgeous.
(Which Abolish recognises in a completely neutral way of course. As another commenter said “Abolish clocking Scott as an Elder vampire because he's too pretty is certainly *something*. tell us more about his moon-like hair and porcelain face. clearly these are neutral descriptions that bear no further examination”)
But obviously it’s hard to say that Pyro’s final vampire form is “conventionally attractive”. So what happened?
Pyro is a mutation of the Goldsmith line, influenced by the presence of Owen’s venom in his system when Scott turned him.
He gets the vampirically augmented features of the Goldsmith line, but the wrong filter got applied. He is still beautiful, in a way, but the features that got augmented are the more beastial traits — the influence of Louis’ vampiric line, via Owen’s venom. Pyro is, effectively, a crossbreed of the two lines, but he is still a Goldsmith.
I have more thoughts about vampiric social feeding etiquette and how noble vampire lines used this potential to create “crossbreeds” to build their dynasties but those are whole posts in their own right lol some I’m gonna leave this one here.
