Yeah, I think a lot of the ~popular musical~ fandoms are quite young which definitely contributes to the creepy behavior, but I have also seen fully grown adults doing this kind of stuff.

Gonna have to disagree with you here. One of the people who sent the Pusheen is someone I consider a friend so I can assure you that she is a normal person who just wants to express her appreciation for a favorite performer. I think gifts are not necessary, of course, but a nice gesture that actors really appreciate. I would be concerned if people were sending creepy things or extremely expensive things, but all of the gifts I’ve seen have been nice and normal. I’ve given a couple (very small) gifts to MG cast members myself. Plus a Pusheen costs like less than $20 it’s not really a big deal.

It’s also honestly so weird to me that people screenshot Tumblr posts and put them on Instagram like... just get a Tumblr account. Instagram is for thirst traps.
