Whenever Ruby was upset or angry or ranting Hedley knew the best thing to do was give her space. He never wanted to argue, he knew nothing good would come out of it. Hedley had to remind himself that there were other factors of stress in both of their lives and the pregnancy was only making it worse. It had been a couple of hours since he left the house to take a walk. The New York snow had left a permanent chill in his bones urging him to get home.

Gavin wasn’t really the baby of the family, but people always seemed to think he needed protecting. See, Gavin wasn’t really the sharpest tool in the shed. He was fine with math and subjects like that, but when it came to common sense and street smarts, he wasn’t all that there. He doesn’t get idioms or lingo and takes things very seriously. Most people find it endearing. Gavin is a very trusting person and sometimes easily manipulated, but he doesn’t really even notice. He only sees the good qualities in the people around him. Gavin takes the bad things that happen with grace and continues on.
