( i s2g, if I do 'alt' and you do Arbiter, i'm going to throw a table.)
//Alright. Here we are. While it’s tempting, I shall give you another muse of mine. One of my first OCs, and with whom I have the most experience with. How ironic it would be if one of my old StarCraft pals happened to be following me now. It’s time for ‘The Changeling’ to make a return.
The darkness of the ship was daunting. The creature’s cries called out in its new home.
Long, bony claws gripped the metal walls of this place. There was no gravity here. Power was minimal- focused on life support functions.
The former crew of this vessel had been poorly equipped to handle the breakout. A research vessel, the computers and logs had called it.
The Obscurity. What a fitting name, for the creature to call home. Each Terran it had come across had been rended to bloody shreds; any ‘confrontation’ quickly devolved into screaming and shrieking as the predator tore into the soft flesh with hungry claws and the gnashing of teeth.
It now had a taste of meat.It was far from satisfied.
Flickering lights, trying to draw power from a ruined generator blinded its eyes momentarily.
But it would adapt. It would evolve. That was the way of the Swarm.
Those who thought they could experiment on it had truly underestimated what their successes would give birth to.
To stabilize a creature meant to change shapes fluidly, to assume faces and forms...In the process, they gave it intelligence. Sentience. There was a sickening crack of bones, a rippling of muscle and flesh, as it took the face of the last man it had killed.
Donning the surprisingly intact clothing of the slain, the creature began to push off of the walls, drifting through the weightlessness of a gravity-deprived starship.
And now, it had survivors to infiltrate, and sheep to slaughter.
