Let's Talk Body Modifications

it came up in CANS recently that i am heavily tattooed and pierced and some people didn't know that??

so here is a list of my body modifications, starting with piercings:

Hi Hi so Locke accidentally tagged me as someone who tagged them in this when I've never actually done it, so imma go ahead and do it now! @lockejhaven

1. Are you named after anyone?

Yeah, I am! I am named after a saint in Ireland that my mom feels a deep connection to! My middle name (pre name change) was also a family name, derived from my Great Grandmother.

2. When was the last time you cried?

uuuuuhhhh like a couple days ago? I don't cry often but I have been Very Stressed™ as of late and that may or may not have lead to me crying over something kind Nats said to me.

3. Do you have kids?

Hell. No.

4. Do you use sarcasm a lot?

ooooh yeah, but i've had to real it back since learning to unmask because a lot of people don't pick up on dead pan sarcasm

5. What’s the first thing you notice about people?

Their style. I like looking at people's outfits.

6. What’s your eye color?

hehehe as far as any of y'all know, red (there are like 3 people who know my actual eye color and I am glaring at them rn, don't say anything)

7. Scary movies or happy endings?

Neither? I don't handle horror well but I also think a lot of happy endings are tacky and forced so I don't tend to like them.

8. Any special talents?

uuuuuuhhhhhh, good question? I can play damn near any instrument that you put in my hands at a basic proficiency level? I can grow plants from seeds? I can ski??

9. Where were you born?

sadly, Ohio... It explains a lot actually

10. What are your hobbies?

I have a couple! Obviously I write, but I am also a high level skier! In the summers I like to explore and rollerblade. I also do the music thing quite often!

11. Have you any pets?

Yes! I have an orange baby named Dude (he's a 6? year old orange tabby) and a tortoiseshell angel named Autumn (she's like 15 or smth, I don't know how old she was when we got her but we got her when I was 9 so like 14 years ago)

12. What sports do you play/have played?

I literally have a post about this here. The basic take-away from that post is that it is easier to ask what sports I haven't played lol

13. How tall are you?

5' 8" (or 172 cm for you non american folk)

14. Favorite subject in school?

Science! I would say Chemistry specifically, but that was only one year out of many. I fucking love chemistry though

15. Dream job?

This has changed a lot for me recently. Just a few years ago I would have said a Forensic Chemist or a Nuclear Chemist, but now I think I want to be a Professor of Classics. I would love to focus just on Mythology, but I know that won't be possible

Dream trip: last time i did this i think i said Scotland, but I went there last year so let's say.... I would love to go to Germany. I have a whole month long itinerary from when I applied for my Magellan back at W&J and I want to use it

The Nickname... "Poptart"

So it came up in North Haven yesterday that I used to go by Poptart in my life. I was gonna explain there, but then I got yelled at for not being asleep. So now i'm here!

There's really not much of a story here:

When I was in middle school I loved (and honestly still love) Pop Tarts. I would eat one every day at lunch, it was a necessity for me (mostly for not relevant ed reasons).

Another key piece of information that fits in here is how my middle school did recess. We still had recess, however we did it a bit weird. If the weather was not good, we would be in the gym. If the weather was great and the turf was dry, we would be let loose on the football field.

However! If the weather was fine but the ground was wet, we would be let loose on the parking loop in front of the school. We were expected to walk for our recess, making a collective trip around the loop until we were told to go back inside.

So we got that? good. Now, the weather on one day was good but the turf was sopping wet from a rainstorm that morning. Even the asphalt was still we when we went outside. I also had not been able to finish my pop tart from lunch before going out to the parking loop.

I was trying so hard to shove this open packet of Hot Fudge Pop Tart into my teeny tiny women's skinny jeans front pocket and it Was Not Working.

Now another thing you need to know is that there was a very strict "No Food In Recess" rule. Like, it was heavily monitored.

So next thing I know, the Vice Principal was yelling out "Hey Poptart, no food out here!"

'Why would he call that out?' you ask and gee, I would like to know the same thing. Mr. Presioso knew me, I was the teacher's pet. Everyone knew my name and how to pronounce it, I made sure of it. And yet

Then from there my friends just picked up the nickname to tease me and it stuck. It was easier to go by that than re-introduce people to my very Irish name when I went to a STEM+M school for high school with all new students and teachers. So, for 8 years of my life, I went by Poptart for everything.

College was the first time people actually put an effort into learning my name instead of defaulting to Poptart. Though I do still catch myself answering to it even though it's been like 5 years since then.

But yeah, that's the nickname story!

(I did have a nickname for my nickname, however there is only one (1) person in my life that is allowed to call me it so I will not mention it here)

Another anecdote from CANS! This time surrounding the apparently insane amount of sports equipment I keep in my apartment

So in my apartment I have:

three (3) pairs of skis and all the accessories to go with

a pair of roller blades

a pair of roller skates

a long board

a penny board

volleyball

basketball

stuff for softball

golf clubs

darts

At my moms I also have:

mountain bike

tennis raquet

and more i'm probably blanking on

As far as sports i've played:
