CLARK: Are you down for some sort of vacation soon?
CLARK: It's so hot. I think we should go somewhere on the other side of the world, so we don't have to deal with this hot ass weather.

The date hadn’t been terrible, per se, but he just... hadn’t been into it. Ryan had been polite, of course, and had taken her home --- hell, he’d even walked her to her door and bid her good night before driving back to his own place. He would swear up and down that Remy knew him well, but if she knew him as well as they both said, she wouldn’t constantly set him up with girls he just wasn’t into and girls who weren’t his type. He sighed as he sat on his couch, the bottle of whiskey in one hand and his phone in the other. Usually, he would text Remy to tell her how the date had gone but tonight? He wasn’t in the mood for that. How many times could he text her that it hadn’t been great? That he hadn’t been into her? That he could see the disappointment in his date’s eyes because he wouldn’t even kiss, much less sleep with them? It was a broken record. And so, he drank. Not enough to be extremely drunk, but enough to grab his phone and order an Uber to Remy’s place. Only until the Uber had taken him to his destination did he realize he had no idea what he was doing there or what he was going to say. Ryan cursed under his breath, making sure to thank the driver as he got out (and also making sure that even in this state, he was tipping him). He only tripped once as he made his way to her door, stopping just before he knocked and taking a deep breath. What the fuck was he gonna say to her now that he was here? Before he could talk himself out of it though, he knocked on her door, half hoping she was already asleep so he could forget he’d done this in the first place.

They’d been in this position so many times before. Almost too many, in fact. To the point where the trip to the fertility clinic and back was unfairly familiar, though Kristy drove home just as cautiously as she had the very first time. “How are you feeling, darling? Still okay?” She questioned, glancing over toward her wife in the passenger seat once they’d paused at a red light. Kristy reached out her hand to settle it on top of Hadley’s, giving it a soft squeeze, before going back to the wheel. “Do you want to call my sister and ask if we can come pick the kids up in a few hours so you can go home and get a little rest first? I’m sure she and Jessica won’t mind, and Rain and Brad will just be excited to spend more time with Caroline.”
