My mother and I were FaceTiming earlier, and all I could focus on the entire time was her plugged in toaster in the background. She then proceeded to tell me she keeps it plugged in 24/7, and I love the woman, but she’s walking a thin line. Most kitchen fires are started by a plugged in toaster, and yet she’s refusing to listen to reason by only plugging it in when in use. Y’all can consider this your much needed PSA to unplug your toaster and spare yourself a home disaster. Also if anyone wants to call my mother and talk sense into her before her house burns down and she’s forced to move in with me, that would be great.

Operation “get Mom to come up here for Easter so we don’t have to buy ourselves plane tickets next month” has officially commenced. I vote one of us fakes either a pregnancy or car-jacking the Friday before so she books the first flight out. Then we ambush her with ham and four different kinds of potatoes.
