Andi Mack General Mini Bang Official Announcement 2018
Hello there, blogs of Andi Mack. It’s me, @cyrusgoodboye and @spaceottersart teaming up here to start a fandom-wide participation event between writers, fanartists, and other types of creators in the fandom! Here is some basic information you’ll need to know:
What is a mini bang?
-A mini bang is a collaboration between two creators (typically a writer and an artist, but other pairings such as a writer and a video editor and a writer and a music playlist creator ARE accepted as well). Each writer participating will submit a summary of the piece they want to write to me and my co-moderator, @spaceottersart. Other creators, such as artists, video editors, etc, can sign up as well and can request to create fanart or another piece of work for a story based on the summary the writer submitted to us. We will then assign partners and all work will be submitted by a later date.
Other General Rules:
-any ship is allowed! We want this to be an opportunity where all kinds of shippers can come together and create, and you even can choose the ship you want to create for! The sky is the limit. Just be respectful!
-all skill levels are allowed! From amateur to professional, we want YOU to participate in something amazing. If you are struggling with writing or any specific aspect of it, we will assign you a beta to fix any and all mistakes! Don’t let your fear of messing up get in the way of participating, any creation is amazing!
-deadlines! These are important, and they NEED to be followed or you may lose your slot to participate. A poll will be posted post-PSA to see how high the interest level is for different ships, then the results will be posted by Saturday. Sign-ups will begin next Sunday, and then claims begin. Other deadlines will be posted as reminders, but as of right now there is a first check-in (will be early November to see if your projects have been started and your partnerships are working out), a last check-in (will be mid-December to make sure 90% of your work is finished for the final deadline), and a final deadline (will be in early January) so you will have plenty of time. Sign-ups will be open for two weeks and will end on the 30th of September.
-sign-ups! Sign-ups will begin on the 16th and end on the 30th of September 2018. Writers who sign up: leave us your contact information, your ship, a summary of your fic, and the necessary tags for your fic. Artists: leave us your contact information and ship preference as well.
-claims! Claims occur after sign-ups, and it is a poll for artists/other creators only (sorry, writers, you sit this one out!). After we organize all the summaries and tags properly, we will post them via a poll (the writers’ summaries will remain anonymous to keep bias from altering people’s decisions). It’s first come first serve from there! An artist can sign up for three fics maximum that they are interested in so we can assign them to at least ONE they like. Artists/other creators will only be assigned to one fanfic (unless they want to do more, but that depends on how much they want to contribute). After claims, me and my partner Di will work our hardest to pair up each creator with one summary they’re in interested in, but there are no guarantees you’ll be paired up with one of three you showed interest in in the poll (but you WILL be assigned with your ship preference). All fics will be assigned at least one artist, so don’t worry.
-no NSFW works! This is a kids’ show. Enough said.
Rules for Writers
-the word count minimum is 2.5K! Make sure you meet this requirement. There is no maximum word count.
-co-authors ARE allowed, but let us know in advance who your co-author is (contact information needed). Add on another 2K words for each additional author.
-this must be a new work! No previously published fics on other websites are allowed (and this goes for WIP chapter-fics as well)!
-you may post teasers and little excerpts of your works, but do not reveal too much information! It’s supposed to remain a surprise up until the publication deadline.
-multi-chapter fics ARE allowed, but they must be brand-new and never seen before. All chapters must be published by the publication deadline.
-tags and warnings must be released along with the summary/excerpt in the sign-ups. Artists need to know what they’re getting into!
-if you want a beta, please request one! We will have unaffiliated parties proofread your work to ensure that it’s at its best.
Rules for Artists/Other Creators
-the minimum is one finished artwork/video edit/playlist per fanfiction. There is no maximum.
-You can collaborate with other artists, but you must add on an additional piece for each added artist/creator.
-teasers are allowed as well, but don’t release too much information. It should remain a surprise up until the publication date.
-you and your assigned writer must publish on the same date that is assigned to you.
Make sure to answer the poll if you are interested in participating, and follow this blog to ensure you get all information (including sign-ups, claims, other polls, deadlines, and other important reminders). Make sure to send asks to this blog if you have ANY questions about the mini-bang, or PM me, Emma, (@cyrusgoodboye) or Di (@spaceottersart) if you have questions or problems. Also feel free to contact our email @andimackgeneralminibang on Gmail if you need to get a hold of us as well.
