‘THE TIME I THOUGHT OF YOU’ for ronnie.

     she slams her bedroom door shut, tears violently streaming down her cheeks as she allows herself to fall against her door, slowly sliding down until she hits the floor with a thud. everything in her life is so messed up. her parents are separated, her business is ruined and all of her relationships are going down in the gutter. her chest feels tight as she tries to breathe in deeply, needing air to fill her lungs and calm her down. shaking hands come under her eyes as she wipes the tears away, lips quivering as she thinks back on the shouting match she just had with her father.

     hardin scott has been making her life unbearable. he’s out to ruin her, he always has been. she’s convinced that her father brought him and his treacherous father to riverdale just to ruin her life and distract her from trying to sabotage hiram. hardin has always been a difficult person to deal with but when you feel his love, you feel it so deeply that it moves your soul. she thinks back on the times when he held her sobbing body as she tried to explain the trouble she got herself into with nick st. clair. she remembers him stroking her hair, telling her that he was going to lift all of her burden and make her feel better.

     she remembers him carrying her into bed and even when she begged him to leave, he stayed and consoled her. this was one of the only times that she has allowed herself to be vulnerable around him and he was soft, caring and understanding. she doesn’t understand why he has to make her life so miserable. her heart aches at the memory of how they used to be. they could never be like that again, she knows that, but a woman can dream.     @mensnge / prompts (accepting)

They meet at house parties, they see each other in passing; Toni sells hims drugs, and his friends, they like to see her around, that catch and flash of hot pink that one of them copies later down the line in an act that makes her EYES ROLL. They’re the kind of privilege that she hates but knows well enough to exploit, and Hardin, he’s the kinda hard that likes to think himself a bigger ma than he is, but she’s seen so many boys like this, who’ve got the world handed to them, and why would they think that things are any other way then what’s been presented to them?

The night that they see her, it’s different - Toni smoking outside as the pretty thing runs out, her name’s Tessa, Theresa, or something. And there he is in the follow up, strolling out like he isn’t chasing after a girl and it’s funny because it’s written all over his face, even as the stuffing of his hands, NONCHALANT, is hardly doing him any favours when his eyes are darting this way and that to pinpoint that bounce of honey-brown hair. “Lost someone?” exhale, and there’s nothing but smoke and mirrors, the same that’s caught up in that grin. “Or tryina get lost?”

Meaning, do you wanna buy? Toni’s still sitting on product, after all, and unlike Hardin Scott, nobody’s picking up the bill for her to be here but her, and her alone.
