he’s only mildly surprised to hear her speak up after such a long bout of silence. he glances at her out of the corner of his eye, observing her for a second, before a sigh is ushering past his lips. a smile takes place in its wake and he takes a moment to ponder over her question.
“ oh, i dunno... ” he draws out, leaning back from his current, slumped position against the railing of the balcony. his eyes flicker back up to the stars hanging above them before he responds, “ i guess on a road trip to canada and finally getting to see those waterfalls... ” he’d already told dina about that dream. she’d made a light jab at him, but encouraged the desire. “ i dunno- seems like it’d be nice. ”
finally, he’s standing up straight, half turning his body, along with his head, towards ellie. he watches her for a few more moments, trying to gauge her reaction, before asking, “ what about your alternate universe self? ”
