Do hope you enjoyed Colliderscope last night, I thought it was a particularly strong edition even if i do say so myself and I was assisted in this achievement in no uncertain terms by our man of the mix, Koian who came through in devastatin' fashion.

Colliderscope August 2012 - with Oslo's bassiest, Koian

Saturday 11th August 2012 - 10 (GMT) - Space Invader Radio

Well, by jove, here we go again this very weekend with another subwoofer-munching edition of Colliderscope, in the company of my disembodied voice and some of the most recent, half decent bass-orientated trickery emanating in all directions from Space Invader Radio.

In addition to hosting the Winter Olympics on more than one occasion, being an exciting night spot, location of interest for lake enthusiasts, not to mention being the capital of Norway, Oslo is also the playground of our guest on the Miaow Mix for August, Koian.

Cast your mind back to July on the 'Scope and you'll doubtless recall hearing one of the stand out if not THE best edits of the year, Cypress Hill's Light Another given a liberal beating by the very same fellow. One listen to and I knew we had to get Koian in to spin for us. And thanks to international diplomacy I'm proud to announce that a medley of Koian remixes, re-edits and much breakage and bass will form the mid-section of Saturday's proceedings.

You may notice a slightly British flavour to Koian's style and well you might, as your man spent three years developing his style over there in Brighton, taking the ozone, getting an education and knocking about in the company of break beat don, Krafty Kuts et al. These days, you'll find Koian cranking out the bangers on Mutate Records, occupying numerous DJ residences and, in conjunction with bosom mucka, Get Matsui, running club concept Bassline Boutique (can't imagine where the inspiration for that came from). But there's more, much more to Colliderscope - either side of Koian's turn on the wheels I'll be mixing, matching and patching my way through bass music of many origins - utilising a similar technique that a farrier would employ to shape horseshoes prior to attachment to the animal.  The last few weeks have been particularly strong in all areas and I am chuffed to be able to bring you breaks and booties aplenty leading up to our guest, and later on some of the darkest, filthiest basslines in the business.  Mucky.
