More writing asks and answers under the cut! This one is for my disgusting history OC and might be strange out of context to those unfamiliar with him.
But yes here goes.
4: What would they do if they needed to make dinner but the kitchen was busy?Honestly, if the kitchen is busy, it's probably his wife preparing dinner in the first place. If he was hankering for something to munch on while she did so, he'd probably stand awkwardly in the doorway until invited in. Or until he gives up and goes back to whatever it was he had been working on.
10: Neuroses? Do they recognize them as such? There is a compulsion to check and recheck everything he writes. This stems from his paranoia about someone else catching an error (especially the political sort) before he can. Probably a very understandable one, and he does recognize it.
19: What do they think about before falling asleep at night?Andrei is the kind of guy who would work himself to death. On a less dramatic tier, he tends to work himself to sleep. His favourite way to approach bed is utter exhaustion- such exhaustion that he doesn't have time to ponder anything while his head is on the pillow. If he were to allow himself the time to think, it might be about his failing relationship with his wife. Or probably work.
28: Who do they see as their best friend? Their worst enemy?Andrei has few friends. His surroundings encourage mistrust. To reveal your inner feelings is to be reported, no matter how innocent they might be. That's how he sees it. His closest friends tend to be in the work place. Once he travels to America, he does make one very close friend with a professor of the English language who allows him to discreetly borrow literature that might have been frowned upon back home.
29: Reaction to sudden extrapersonal disaster (eg The house is on fire! What do they do?)He had been asleep. Heavy knocking, and his eyes snap open. The room's blurry, and he scrambles for his glasses. Something had happened. Something shouldn't have been published, and it was his fault. They were here for him, for Tatiana, who was already reaching for her jacket. Wear as many clothes as they let you take with you, an unspoken but common knowledge. The gulags were mercilessly cold. Hands shaking, as the knocking made its third round, he could barely hear the shouting on the other side. The door opened, just in time for him to finally understand. "Огонь-" The eyes that met Andrei's were not that of a heartless police agent, but instead, the neighbour that had never treated him with anything but kindness. Swallowing thickly, it was strange to feel relieved, even as he shouted to Tatiana. Fire, three floors up. They might still need those coats.
30: Reaction to sudden intrapersonal disaster (eg close family member suddenly dies)When that same neighbour was abruptly arrested four months later for a crime that may or may not have honestly been committed by him. Andrei shut it out of his mind.
38: What recharges them when they’re feeling drained?Andrei is an introvert. He likes to be alone when he's had a rough time of it. A walk generally makes him feel better, if it isn't too ungodly cold outside. He liked to take a notebook along with him, and jot down notes about his surroundings. He stopped doing that years ago. He felt like it just wasn't a very smart thing to be doing.
44: Superstitions or views on the occult?Nonsense. It's one of the few things he can get into a good debate about.
48: If this person were to get into a fist fight, what is their fighting style like? His preferred fighting style is to never be in a physical confrontation in the first place. If that somehow, for some terrible reason happens, he will lose. He has no experience and it would be laughable.
